The Blake collab sucks, listen to her second album

 

I’ve never heard of Boards of Canada, will check them out

 

I did, it’s what made me think she was uninteresting haha

 

Yeah, BoC have influenced so many bands/artists over the years. They’re one of those bands, like Stereolab or Broadcast, who have probably influenced one of your favourite bands.

I don’t listen to them anywhere near as much as I should. Must get on that.

 

I honestly could never get into Boards of Canada

Anna Kendrick is not a great singer, and is a far better actress (check her out in films like Up In The Air or Drinking Buddies) than her more popular roles would indicate

In fact I find most "actors becoming singers" situations to be pretty pandering and shitty (Anna Kendrick, Bradley Cooper, whatever the fuck Jeremy Renner is trying to do lately, etc.)

 

Don't think I've ever said anything on here, but I saw Covet this summer and holy fuck, are they boring live. And this is coming from someone who's seen a lot of mathrock shows.

Jamie Foxx is a very talented actor turned musician, though his forgotten debut album came out very shortly after his first movie role and stand up special

Seriously though, this BAG album is a true hip hop history oddity, partly because the production was actually nice and was done by a member of The Pharcyde

 

The lack of people rushing to defend Anna Kendrick is of monumental concern to me.
