I'm 50/50 on ghosts and stuff but I'm like 1000% on aliens. I think it's ridiculous to think that we're the only sentient beings out there. We ain't even dat cool
I don't know if this is unpopular so much as a thing that happens often that I notice here a lot and and have feelings about but I hate when there's a convo about separating the art and the artist and it's some man that assaulted women or wrote misogynstic lyrics or something and then a bunch of men comment on how they know it's wrong but have no trouble separating it and I'm just like... well good for you lol so happy ur not too bogged down by these things you can more easily disconnect from and don't experience on the same level
I feel the same way about pretty much everyone and their feelings on Kanye. It seems no matter how far he goes it doesn't matter. Oh and the hypocrisy of certain people on this forum talking about a 'lack of empathy' for him, considering how they've treated me or other women. Lol
Don't believe in ghosts or demons. Gimme an Ouija board and I'll chant out the 7 demons of hell, I don't think anything is gonna happen. And if I do get some "damning" evidence (heh) of the paranormal then at least I'll have somewhat definitive evidence to go off of.
I think people take it personally when people (rightfully) call out artists they like, as if it's a reflection of their own character (it's not). There's really no point in coming into a convo about an artist being shitty and saying "well I'm gonna listen to them still anyways" though. Like, fine, you do you, no one was saying otherwise, but making a point to say that just comes off as dismissive towards sensitive issues. Hope this doesn't sound preachy or like I'm calling people out, I'm sure I've done this too in the past.
It shouldn't have gone on for more than five seasons. I'd say it didn't suck but when 1/3 of the show isn't great then....
Agreed. I rewatched a lot of it about a year ago and I maybe chuckled twice. Not to mention all the jokes that rely on dumb sexist and homophobic stereotypes.
I can't believe I watched all ten seasons of friends in one month when it hit Netflix. It's not even that good
I think many of the jokes are dated like many shows from that era, but I relate to it a lot more as I get older so it holds up well for me. I relate to Rachel a lot, espesh her break up with Ross. I cry like every time I watch those episodes. And her fashion still holds up really well. I still watch episodes and get inspired by her clothing. Rachel Green and Chloe from Don't Trust the B are my fashion icons!
There's something so soothing about Friends, in spite of the dated gay panic jokes and Ross being the worst
Omg I recently watched Frasier for the first time and the gay panic episodes were so dumb. Obv in Friends too. Super dated and just awful like chill God forbid you nap together!!
Friends isn't an incredible show or anything, but it's one of those comfort shows for me. It's something light and uncomplicated I can put on when I need to de-stress or want something kind of mindless. The homophobia/transphobia/sexism/racism is something that absolutely bothers me and should rightfully be criticized, though. It doesn't ruin the show for me, but it always takes me out of it. I actually just finished my rewatch of the show last night, impeccable timing in this thread.
Related: I just started Freaks and Geeks. I thought it was gonna suck after watching a decent number of episodes then it got pretty dang good mostly imo.
Who am I kidding friends is pretty good. I'm currently rewatching scrubs tho which is my favorite tv show of all time, tied with AD
I liked Scrubs but it wasn't a fave like I was expecting. It was weird cause JD could be such a condescending ass and the show would call him out which is good, but sometimes it wouldn't call him out and i'd be like ok are we supposed to think he's a jerk here or are we supposed to side with him?? Cause I felt like there were some moments I was supposed to side with him and I was like ....no
