Uber doesn't seem to bad at all, but AirBnB does odd me out a lil but then again I'm an extreme introvert really so I'd probably avoid both.
Getting a ride doesn't seem as odd of a pitch to me than letting someone live in your house/living in someone elses.

One of my good friends use to be a manager at Postmates lol.

Airbnb is hit and miss. Good service all in all but the landlords I had this last month were incompetent.

Also, fuck Postmates. It's their policy not to tip so it's my policy to make their experience so bad that the customer next time goes somewhere else or picks it up themselves.

I don't know if this is unpopular or not but cashiers should have chairs

  5. Absolutely agree with that. A lot of companies don't allow for it because they feel like it'll impact the customer perception (or they just don't care), but standing all day is obv terrible for your long term health. I was a teller for about a year and my company made us stand on ergonomic mats, I was like what a fucking cop out lol.

Aldi gives their cashiers chairs. Aldi is cool.

I hate standing and when I was a cashier I was miserable. The supervisors could sit on chairs but we couldn't, so as soon as the customer walked away I'd steal their chair or sit on a big case thing we had behind the counter. I think when I got hired we had chairs and then someone took them actually

I def tip for carry out still. I get stressed out just being in a packed restaurant and hearing their phone ring. I can't imagine how chaotic that is trying to run around and take care of everyone inside and then answer more to go orders.

The person who takes the order is usually juggling other jobs, including their own tables and making sure the take out orders are correct and ready so giving them a few bucks isn't a big deal. Even when it's not busy, the Thai food ppl are my fave ppl so I tip them cause I  them and their food. They're the only ones I get carry out from lol

Oh see I was playing haha. I wasn't laying out a case for you to be decent, I just expect you to be decent. They don't just pick up the phone, they do everything a server does minus drink service. They get paid the same wages, work longer hours, and almost always do near double in sales what the servers make and almost never make even half of the tips.

People doing take out still have to tip out to the kitchen too, so if you're not tipping them they're losing money by doing your take-out order. (if it's a restaurant that does take out and table service anyway. not sure about places that are strictly take out)

Tipping is a pretty fucked up concept though. Perfect way to get fellow underpaid workers to get mad at each other instead of at the capitalist fat cats

Yup idek how many times I hear "why should I tip them? I don't get tipped!!" Like ok well be that as it may it's not their fault u don't get tipped so why punish the servers....

I worked a couple To-Go shifts at Ruby Tuesdays and that shit sucks as far as tipping goes. You did get tipped out from servers, bartenders, etc but you seriously don't make jack.

  23. Okay I understand that people who take phone orders have other responsibilities at their job, but I guess I just expect a person on that side of the argument would want to clarify which of those duties is actually a discernible benefit received by the customer, that justifies them tipping on an order they swung by and picked up with zero waiting service. Instead I got immediately backhandedly called an asshole (now edited out) and got some griping about how "x does the same as y but isn't paid the same". Idk maybe I'm just not in a great mood or something but that was pretty off-putting to me and I don't really feel like being a part of the remaining conversation if that's any indication of how it's gonna go. That's all!

I ain't mad at ya though @CarpetElf and maybe we can have the tipping conversation some other time, just not into it today. Everyone deserves to be paid a liveable wage by their employer, tipping is v fucked in general.
