Special Relativity really shakes up your view of time. I think there's a biological hinderance to an intuitive understanding of time, in that the facet of time we experience is the psychological arrow of time but our physical understanding of it is generally, in one form or another, related to entropy. I think you have to forfeit some intuition and trust the mathematical models to gain deeper insight into how time works. Although, at it's core, special relativity is highly intuitive in that it's a preservation of symmetry that we already take for granted.

suits and ties are uncomfortable and to me feel archaic, I don't have an alternative for men's formalwear because I can't imagine many people joining my there's no logical reason for clothes to be delineated by gender party

Suits are so much better looking now than they used to be but they don't always look comfy. srsly when I watch queer as folk I die at how hideous Bryan's expensive suits are. omg they're so bad. I hate that most dresses and skirts don't have pockets. i always just saw screw it and barely look at my phone if I'm wearing one cause I'm not gonna keep track of it

At my work party the "best dressed man" was wearing the most generic suit but I guess to old dudes that's the peak of fashion

if it makes you feel any better there's not always enough room for everything in pockets, so far the only solution to that seems to be cargo shorts/pants which seems is practical but not stylish

A good, properly-fitted suit makes anyone look good but they are 100% not comfortable lol. Especially if you're having to wear one at a summer wedding or w/e, and it's so fucking hot and taking ur jacket off does next to nothing to alleviate the heat because a) you got a damn tie strangling ur neck and b) formal shirts are IMO the most uncomfortable part of wearing a suit - so damn itchy when it's hot.

An I also agree with the comment that people think even generic suits are super stylish for some reason. Thinking you dress well just because you wear suits is like thinking you're funny because you can quote from comedy shows!

  9. I had to wear tailored suits to work for years, I don't personally find them uncomfortable at all for the most part. But to win a "best dressed" award for wearing one is silly. I'm one of those weirdos that thinks fashion rules in general are kinda silly though.

Yeah, the fashion industry is a joke, in whole. That said, I don't find suits to be uncomfortable and enjoy wearing them when the time is right. However, I'm relieved my place of employment has relaxed their dress code and I can get by without a tie now.

I really like fashion casually but I'm a big believer in it reflecting your personality. It's so boring when it doesn't. What I really like about What Not to Wear is that they keep in the contestants personality but help guide them and keep that part of themselves but in fashionable ways!

  12. Well I don't necessarily think the whole industry is a joke. If people are into keeping on the cutting edge of new fashion and studying fashion through history, then good on them for doing what makes them happy.

What I'm talking about are people that arbitrarily pass judgement on fashion as a whole like there is any sort of objectivity to what is acceptable or unacceptable to wear. Ridiculous things like "you're not allowed to wear suspenders and a belt at the same time" or "hoodies or sandals over the age of 25 are unacceptable". Like, there are certainly things I don't feel comfortable wearing, but I don't care if anyone else does because I don't believe there should be definitive "rights" and "wrongs" in fashion.

Sandals & socks is a 100% no tho.

In a sense, it's cool that the fashion industry is recognising urban/street fashions more and more, and moving away from the tailored suits and outlandish Gucci-level shit that you'd see on runways but never on anyone IRL. People like ASAP Rocky can do both casual and formal so fucking well it isn't fair. But To see people like Drake coming up on 'best dressed' lists is still like :chin::chin::chin:

Also, a lot of brands have been ripping off Yeezy since season 1 went on general sale. There was so much hate and criticism for what Kanye had been producing for his line, but people have no problem buying the same looking shit from ASOS a year later?

I can't save the sandals though. I am not a feet person.

Everytime I think of Sandals I think of shoobies from Rocket Power or ppl who's second toe for some reason is longer than their big toe and how that makes so many ppl uncomfortable lol.

  17. That was just a random example, I'm not sure if I've seen that one specifically haha. But I've definitely seen things like that.

    Edit: regarding the hoodies

i have no fashion sense whatsoever, if it wasn't for tapered jeans/chinos, vans, band shirts, thermals, flannels, and hoodies I'd go everywhere in pajamas lmao.
To be honest when I went away to college I wore pajama pants all the time, especially to any classes before noon lmao.

This is true to an extent in a lot of art. Musicians borrow all the time too (and to me that's a good thing).

Hell I wrote a whole song like 3 days ago based on a couple measures I borrowed from Bach's Prelude in C
