TV is still great but since the end of Mad Men I haven't really found a prestige drama that gives me the same fulfillment as any movie. The time commitment to a TV show is daunting as well. Some great comedies are on though. Still watch Bojack, Rick and Morty, Love, Atlanta, Master of None and New Girl.
I saw an episode of tosh for the first time in years the other day and holy shit I forgot how bad the racism and sexism in that show is
bolded those standouts, I really like Westworld and GoT, and I won't miss an episode of It's Always Sunny. And I have a special place in my heart for The Affair, probably my favorite show on TV currently.
God I don't see how we did it. I swear my cig never went out bc I'd light the next one with the one I was smoking lol
yeah, unlike Family Guy supposedly McFarlane only does the voices so it's actually really funny and dark
Like, he teases "am I gay" like a group of malicious 7th graders. I stand by that this isn't Tosh, it's his writers and Comedy Central playing to their bro-Monster-Energy-high audience but the show is heinous.
Rick and Morty is great but the Reddit fandom makes me want to die, they were also extra about Community there's something about Dan Harmon where he makes good shows that annoying people love
Community was funny at first. Granted I watched that show in high school so I don't know how well it's aged
I love Rick and Morty but hate Community :/ Also I typically get a lot of shit from people when I say American Dad got good so I'm glad it's getting some praise in here haha. It's nowhere near those other two dumpster fires McFarlane had on television.
Harmon is a larger than life concept at this point. He could shit in a bag and release it and Harmon fans would find meaning in it. I loved Community and love R&M but the man isn't writing's second coming. He's fallible.
He and his staff* are writing the 2nd funniest show on television right now (I forgot Nathan for You in my last post)
Community > Rick And Morty (still love it though!) IMO, probably unpopular so fits with the thread, Community is severly underrated and misunderstood. Season 4 sucked, but there's so much emotion, and great homages throughout the show, and it's one of the best shows around that deals with human connection.
Review is p funny. I think Nathan For You is better and I love Andy Daly, but the concept of NFY is just ripe for hilarious moments
The point was about the lionization of Harmon as a singular entity being a not so good thing. Credit should be attributed to more than the most prominent name on a project
