if it's any consolation i dont like chocolate either, but im always down for the chocolate my swiss relatives bring when they visit.
I have an intolerance to chocolate or something. It gives me headaches and hurts my throat so I only eat a lil bit in one sitting. I've noticed sucky quality chocolate like Hershey bars and rly dark chocolate does it the worst. Idk why.
Yo not to seem like I’m stalking your posts or whatever but FUCK YEAH. Baklava was a childhood staple at family get togethers growing up. Incredible stuff
No stalking here hahahahaha I love it. What should I take a shot of or drink rn because I’m loving this cross-website convo
Fuxkinf lmaoZ . Is so the same but I’m in a bar and I hate public selfies I feel like such a loser but just know I’m cheersing you in spirit
Good Baklava is certainly one of the greatest achievements of mankind. Bad Baklava is absolutely terrible.
Ain’t nevah had bad baklava. What I don’t understand is why is was a family thing. It was my Dutch relatives who always made it, but I’mmmm pretty sure it’s a Greek thing
It's from a wide area. Wikipedia says "it is characteristic of the cuisines of the Levant, the Caucasus, Balkans, Maghreb, and of Central and West Asia." Over here it's mostly sold in Turkish stores and restaurants. I don't know about your family but I do know that Baklava is significantly more ubiquitous in the Netherlands than in other European countries I lived in. The Netherlands are a melting pot, a lot of diverse people - including a lot of people from the above mentioned regions - crammed into a small country with a "native" population that is historically slightly more open minded than in many other countries, so maybe that's part of it.
