That’s my point, though. I think it’s bizarre for an actor to “annoy” you. It’s a different thing if it’s like some comedic actor whose comedy you don’t enjoy, like Sandler or Jim Carrey or whoever, because in that case it’s not really their acting as much as it is their defining sense of humor. But if they’re a dramatic actor then there’s not really going to be some defining characteristic of their acting to annoy you in the first place
Also, maybe you don't like someone because they're a bad actor. If someone "acts" similarly in every role regardless of what the role requires, then you might not like their "acting style", or maybe they suck at acting and you don't like them and have a hard time suspending disbelief because they can't disappear in the role.
i've caught Samantha Bee a few times just by forgetting to turn the TV off. I don't think i've even smirked once. Not a fan.
Except by giving the examples of “big A-list leading men like Pitt, Clooney, DiCaprio, and Depp” it was pretty clear inference to make that it had nothing to do with their personal character but, yknow, the reason anyone even knows who they are. Unless there’s some other unifying reason to have a strong negative opinion of all A-list leading men, or even just those four specifically, that you know about but I don’t ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t know if this is unpopular but I find most action movie trailers I see these days look like parodies of themselves Today before Stuber they played the trailer for the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen and I truly expected to see “produced by the onion” at the end it was so over the top also I had to see the trailer for the most recent Mission Impossible before what felt like every movie I saw last year, that one was pretty bad too half related/ I find a fight scene has to be super unique or have next level choreography to hold my attention I guess you could say most big budget action movies are not my thing
The Mission Impossible franchise is elite but I think there are a lot of John Wick imitators lately. Big dumb action like Olympus Has Fallen has always been around though, and probably isn’t going anywhere.
Action is probably my least favorite genre in general. There are obviously some amazing exceptions, but so much of it is just not my thing at all.
The gap in quality of action movies is so high. You basically have Mad Max, John Wick, Mission Impossible....and then everrrrything else. (I’m sure I’m leaving out some good foreign ones I haven’t seen)
I always feel bad for all the cars that are destroyed in action movies, someone comes out of the pub and James Bond just utterly destroyed their car
The last Die Hard is one of the worst movies I ever paid to see. Got forced to go with a group of friends and it was just excruciating.
