Nah the only order that I felt genuinely silly about was a coffee and food from Dunks maybe 3-5 minutes away when I had a bad case of COVID (I told them to leave it at the door).
If I have DoorDashed like, McDonalds or whatever, and I’m not ailing, that means something has gone terribly wrong in my life
When I delivered pizza I cared more about the distance and the traffic. Unless it was some huge order it was not really harder to deliver 2 pizzas versus 3.
I do this every now and then. Usually when I'm working from home on a Friday and don't want to take the time to leave my desk for long heh. It's my "end of the week" reward.
I order delivery at work only because it is really hard to be back in half an hour but almost never while I am at home.
I don't order food to my office because we have to badge in to enter and I'd feel weird having our security guards watch my food haha
I try to time it so I can be down at the front when they show up but it is always a gamble and sometimes the front office has to hold my food. When I am feeling really lazy I will order an extra burger or egg roll and send a student to get it and feed them as a reward.
Food is the ultimate motivator for students. Three years ago a teacher was talking bad about me to students and they would not tell me who it was so I offered to buy one of them a whole McDonald's meal and they immediately gave them up.
She was telling students how I fall asleep during staff meetings. She ended up being my co-teacher last year so it was awkward for her but I do not hold grudges.
The only thing I didn't really like about her is that she took the bait every time this kid was obviously trolling her by pretending he was dumber than he actually was. The kid acted entirely different when she was there versus when it was just me.
