There was over a decade there where, with the one exception of Bagger Vance, literally everything he starred in was a massive hit. Now it's been over a decade since he was in a movie that wasn't a commercial and/or critical flop
Yeah, I never saw Bagger Vance but noticed it looking at his IMDb today and a Robert Redford movie with Will, Matt Damon, and Charlize Theron might be worth checking out. I’m curious about it!
I can’t stand that movie. Never liked it to begin with, but my father used to go in spurts of watching one movie over and over again for a while and that was one of them, so my dislike went up exponentially.
TIL Bagger Vance is also in the Will Smith/Charlize Theron cinematic universe with Hancock, you don't need to see Hancock
1. The Avengers movies are better than the Nolan Batman films. 2. The best video games of the last few years have better stories than modern mainstream films. 3. The Rob Schneider comedies are kind of funny. 4. Random people making memes or videos online are funnier than sitcoms with a staff of writers. 5. Watching movies like Sharknado to make fun of them isn't being subversive or ironic; you are doing what they wanted you to do and you are the dummy for thinking there are people that actually take the movies seriously. 6. Wrestling is great theater.
I just watched The VVitch from a couple years ago and I was severely underwhelmed by it. I don't want to say that it was terrible, because it was definitely unique and the filmmaking on display was actually quite good, but I found it to be very boring and not even in the least bit scary.
I had just read and heard so many good things about it. I really thought it was going to be right up my alley.
Personally, I had to wait until I saw that on a home release to really appreciate it, mainly because the dialogue was so soft and subtitles saved the day.
I think I would definitely give it another watch and see if maybe it was just not at all what I was expecting and that threw me off...
