The Critic used to end every episode with the usher kicking Jay out of the theater. We used to be a proper country.
I remember seeing Godzilla in 1998 and they had a scene at the very end that was sequel bait about a baby Godzilla surviving the carnage. Nowadays that would be a post-credits scene.
I don’t remember the ending one. Seems that one is more disposable, which like, whatever. I have no strong feelings on that one (might not have even seen it); if people wanna critique that one, sure, whatever. The mid-credits one is good, though. And having it after the initial credits over the blues performance absolutely is a pacing thing. It’s connected to the main movie enough to not be buried, but separated enough to feel like an epilogue. That initial stretch of credits before that scene feel as much like part of the movie as credits during a montage at the beginning would.
