I need to check out Rusty Lantern. I guess it’s the convenience chain people rave about in Maine/New England. I haven’t been yet.
It is the highest reviewed non-specialty gas station chain in the country. I guess Ralph’s in big Lebowski if it was a+
Not quite as bougie or crunchy. Maybe an little bit closer to Trader Joe's. It's just a pretty nice grocery store with solid ready to eat meal options.
Sick, I would love if Traders had a deli. I do 90% of my grocery shopping there every week but would love to get a sando while shopping
More like traditional brands like Kraft or whatever that you won’t find in Whole Foods but close sure
It isn’t really TJ’s either since TJ’s doesn’t have sandwich shop and hot food and is all TJ brand. It’s just a regular grocery store haha. The best version of piggly wiggly jewel osco Harris teeter wegmans etc. regular ass regional grocery stores
Publix is also really known for having great store brand options similar to Aldi's. Way more expensive though.
Publix is a little pricier than Walmart but they pay their employees more, give their employees stock, and promote almost always from within. The quality is noticeably better.
Literally never heard it and have lived in New England my whole life, guess it skipped over my state lol EDIT I am an idiot, there is one 10 minutes from me lmao. 2.9 stars, photos don't really look any more impressive than an Irving Circle K? Feel like Cumby's looks better than this particular one anyways
I think I’ve stopped at that one once if it’s by a traffic circle. Never thought twice about it lol just felt like a gas station convenience store.
My go to Pub Sub the last few years is Turkey with Italian bread and provolone with some OO. Basically an italianified Turkey sub.
Lmao it's local slang for a chain of gas stations called Cumberland Farms. I didn't realize they are just a New England chain tbh Don't worry, the B isn't silent in Cumby's lol.
I liked how they talk about how good Publix Strawberries are. Florida Strawberries grown in Plant City 100% are better than other Strawberries. Also Mitch's friend was sooo correct in her two suggestions: get the Black & White cookies (he was right they are New York Jewish Diner level good), and just get a normal Boar's Head cold cut pub sub instead of the chicken tendy pub sub. I disagree with them hating Publix Artichoke dip. I grew up on that shit. To me that is what all artichoke dip should taste like .
Basic Boar's Head cold cuts to me are the more authentic Pub Sub experience. I would recommend that for a first timer too.
You're right, chicken tenders might be a bit too advanced for the uninitiated. Should be left to the pros.
