Have you watched Easy A yet?!

 

NO OKAY I HAVENT IS IT ON NETFLIX

 

Based on everything i know about you, you will love it.

 

It looks really bad.

 

Easy A rules

 

My problem is that I like dont rly watch movies. I rarely go to the movies and I don't often sit down to watch them. If I'm looking thru a streaming service i typically pick a tv show

But I will watch Easy A someday!!

 

It’s not on Netflix but it usually is on like STARZ or Showtime or something else random. It’s too good, and Lisa gives such a great and complicated performance for a teen film.

This is probably my biggest one, but Woody Allen's work sucks too.

 

Schwimmer has had an excellent post-Friends career in and outside of Hollywood. He’s a prominent anti-sexual assault activist in LA.

 

David was in Wolf, the completely insane masterpiece and my favorite werewolf movie ever. That was right before Friends though.

 

I love the Old Town Road song, video, etc.

I just assumed it would be unpopular here. Everything else is

 

I was talking to my friend about Will Smith’s popularity and I totally get it. The dude has so much charisma and is just incredibly likable. A perfect movie star. But I sort of feel like people view him as more than a movie star and think of him as a great actor and that, he is not. Not to say he’s bad, but I don’t think he has ever had an opportunity to really shine. This discussion caused me to look through his filmography and I haven’t seen everything he’s done, but there has been nothing I’ve seen him in that I’d say was better than just okay. So, yeah, I guess I’ve come to the conclusion that Will Smith has never been in a great movie. Good? Fine? Sure. But truly excellent? Nope.

 

Men in Black is one of my favorite comedies ever.

 

That’s my favorite film of his without question.

 

I very vividly remember being 7 years old and watching MIB on New Years Eve 1999 and into the new millennium

And yeah, easily one of his best. Still don’t think it’s necessarily great or at least not a vehicle to showcase his acting and I feel like people talk him up as being one of the greats

 

I've never seen anyone talk about Will Smith as being one of the greats.

 

I haven’t heard that talk either but I would say Men in Black is in the highest tier of comic book movies and one of the best sci-fi comedies in general, which is enough for me to consider it a great.

 

He could have maybe been an all-time great, there are flashes of it and sometimes people like him and Tom Cruise get discredited for being “movie stars” when people ignore the real acting chops they have.

But he doesn’t pick projects that really challenge him. He never has. Even Cruise would do Magnolia or Eyes Wide Shut in the 90s, Will Smith did like, Ali and Concussion, very Oscar-bait type movies where he’s not actually asked to be particularly vulnerable or step too far out of his comfort zone

 

Will Smith has not made a better movie than MIB but he probably could if he didn't have trash taste in projects
