That is all I can think about when someone says “basketball shorts”. Just those real baggy ones that you have to stretch or kneel to get anything out of the pockets
I've never been a book annotator (I tend to take notes and save quotes on my phone), but I think I might start. I love seeing annotations from other people in books I'm reading. I like to use vinyl download cards for bookmarks, but fewer and fewer labels include those anymore so I'm running out.
the issue I ran into with dog-eating/creasing pages was that at a certain point it was difficult to remember why I creased so many pages in the first place, and it was as likely to be because I was using the crease to mark my spot when I stopped reading vs there being anything of note on the page. It’s easier to flip through uncreased pages and see my highlights/written annotations to find what I’m looking for or understand why I was marking that section up. I use a lot of Pokémon and 90s baseball cards as bookmarks, but there’s usually always at least a receipt or something nearby to use for marking my spot, so I stopped creasing/dog-earing pretty young.
My parents call them tennis shoes and I think gym shoes is the preferred term where I live, but I just call them sneakers Also more men in short shorts please
I always called them basketball shoes because all the sneakers I inevitably bought as a child/teen were basketball sneakers
5 1/2" Corduroy Everywear Shorts | Madewell I pretty much live in these shorts at home everyday and outside in the summer, bought all the colors last year. Stylish, so comfy and the perfect length. Didn't someone ask what corduroy was recently?
A receipt or ticket stub or statement from my car insurance definitely hits good as a bookmark. I’ve used a comic as a bookmark in a graphic novel once or twice, lol. When I get a used book and find something the previous owner used as a bookmark, it feels like I found the prize in a cereal box.
The tennis shoes thing mostly just came from my mom since that’s what she called (and still calls) them. Sneakers are basketball shoes and everything else with laces are just shoes
the 4 inch inseam lululemon sweatshorts and the 5 inch inseam legends luka shorts are my go tos for basically everything except work, concerts, the movies and cold weather
Brando didn’t really wear jeans out of character though. He seemed to be a slacks guy. The older he got the more he clearly dressed purely for comfort
