Given how few people read anymore, annotating at least means you were trying to engage. You really should take some sort of notes if you are trying to engage seriously in something.
“You have desecrated a pure object” is so funny to me. Underlining shit in a book rules. Though, I personally tend not to do annotations beyond that, mostly because I’m a slow reader and don’t need to slow myself down further, lol.
Related-ish: I once got one of those Bibles where every page has a lined column for taking notes, because I used to love taking notes during a study and thought it’d be fun to have that in the book itself. But, then I never wrote in it, because I’d never be sure if that day’s thoughts were good enough to use up the space, lol.
See these two days later and echoing. Hondas and Toyotas are just absolute beasts. I plan on buying them my entire life, though might go Subaru since my wife has one and I'm comfortable with it. But I've had a camry, and corolla, and an accord and loved them all. I have an Acura now because it was my brothers and I got it when he passed. Since it's the "luxury" brand of Honda I'm hoping it lasts forever lol. Downside is it's a sedan so kind of cramped with two car seats now.
I've been highlighting the readings for my masters degree classes. I'm bad at annotating but I have to do a lot of reading for my two summer courses and I'm doing it ahead of time so I'm going to try to annotate questions/thoughts this time. I've never really considered annotating or highlighting/underlining fiction books
When I take notes on books I read, I do it in notebooks I know annotating would probably be more effective and definitely more efficient, but I like to lend out my books and other people don’t need to see my markings and scrawlings
This makes sense to me if the notes are, idk, personal and embarrassing, lol. But, I think most cool people wouldn’t mind and in fact maybe be excited by that? I haven’t gotten around to borrowing books from any of my one friend who marks her books to shit, but if I did, I’d be so thrilled to see what she responded to in it.
Yeah I've had one 93 Infiniti G20, otherwise everything has been made by those two manufacturers and I've loved them all. 95 Acura Integra, 2001 Honda Civic, 97 Lexus ES300, and now 2019 Civic Honestly miss the Lexus the most even though it was so old. Comfiest seats I've ever had, best stock sound system, and adjustable suspension. Every mechanic told me that thing would rust out before the engine would die, and that's exactly what happened lol
I usually take notes on movies, but when I do it in a dark theater it is all over the place and really makes me question what I was talking about at the time.
My movie opinions are pretty bland arthouse and auteur-heavy. People get surprised because they didn't think that people could have different opinions than them.
Once I’m done reading a book I want it to look like it’s never been touched. No creases or ear marks.
People get so fixated on that but it is an objectively true statement. Jeans are for farmers. People who work indoors should wear real pants.
