I haven't, isn't it on Patreon or something? I'm sure it'd be worth subscribing for a month and watching.
Magnolia is such an unfairly underrated film. Works of art that are that open and sincere are so easy to belittle but so hard to get right. Macy's desperate need for approval from the bartender after being betrayed by his parents, Moore's guilt over using an old man, Cruise's defensive wall cracking to show a broken man, and even Reilly's (remember when he was a dramatic actor?) vulnerability in contrast with the masculinity expected of him, all so touching.
Interesting take to consider it underrated, because I feel like it's consistently talked about how good it is, since release. Beloved, iconic and influential.
It gets overshadowed in some discussions by some of PTA’s later masterpieces and critiqued as messy, but it’s always contending for my personal favorite of his stuff
I don’t know how underrated Scorsese’s After Hours is, but I just finished Kafka’s the Trial for the first time and the direct lineage enhances the film even more for me.
If you’re married/in a relationship, a band/pop culture/bootleg tee is the superior option for everyday wear (brewery, store, concert, movie etc). I have not tried it single, it might be better. I only wear them out unless it’s a dinner or event. More casual wear would be my school’s free swag.
It's been a struggle to find well fitting, good quality plain tees these days. Everything is too short, too boxy, or weird proportions.
It’s definitely the opposite imo. Graphic tees open up opportunity for conversation in social settings depending on the band/movie/etc. but yeah I’ve also been mixing in plain tees/shirts in my wardrobe.
That movie has been getting re-appraised a lot the last few years to the point where calling it underrated anymore is tough.
