Tetra doesnt post outside the entertainment section on the forum so we have to talk to him here about his food opinions
this actually does need to go to the music version of the thread though, we don't discuss pop punk here
The hate for the genre is definitely overblown, specifically on here, but I think that’s more posters overcompensating over being embarrassed about their taste when they were younger. Ironically, a lot of the pop punk bands people are rabid for on this site are the ones with the shittiest people in/associated with them.
similarly there’s a complete overcorrection on the love of nu metal (not just here - it’s a weird barstool sports/right wing college kid thing too). Bands had good songs. Korn’s Got the Life is an all timer. The revisionist history on the genre as a whole is odd, though. A lot was trash
I enjoy nu metal a lot as a genre, but a decent amount of bands with big radio hits in the early ‘00s had spotty discographies beyond the singles. Like it’s a chore listening through an entire Trust Company or Taproot or Limp Bizkit album
tbf I don't think Fred, Wes et Al were entering the studio saying time to put our heart and soul into the tracklist of our magnum opus Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water like so many albums you listen to and it's like yeah they never expected you to listen to anything but the singles
