Today we got into a pretty long argument about whether you put on both socks and then shoes or if you put on a sock, then a shoe, and then do the other foot. The latter is correct but I did not know it was that intense.
Like around the house? The best part of getting home is taking off the shackles of clothing (dependent on who you live with).
woah woah woah…you have the same position as the meathead?! As I’ve posted here before, possibly my all time favorite sitcom scene:
And if you were having that convo with students (I think you’re a teacher right?), definitely show them that clip tomorrow lol
It started with talking about how in sitcoms people will show up to a characters' house unannounced and that person is fully dressed and how weird that is. They also didn't believe me when I said there is such a thing as a "house shirt" and an "outside shirt".
My coworker was talking about the air conditioning war with his wife and they are between 75 and 78. Meanwhile, I can't sleep warmer than 68.
On the one hand, I absolutely get the "shackles of clothing" bit and when I lived by myself, I absolutely had my air at 68. On the other hand, socks and then shoes. Come on now.
I usually put my socks on in a completely different room (bedroom) and time (while getting dressed) than my shoes (front door, right when leaving)
I only wear sandals and I usually keep them outside. Since my dog died I started keeping shoes outside to cut down on cleaning.
ok but wait, this is even weirder then.... are you walking around buck naked, then when it's time to leave you go outside buck naked, carry all your clothes to the front porch, and get dressed there? Or do you get dressed in all your clothes except socks, carry those in your hand, walk outside barefoot, then put on sock and shoes together outside?
If I am at home it is probably gym shorts and maybe an old shirt. Only tourists wear socks with sandals. The next time I have to wear socks and closed-toed shoes is April 3.
