I was enthralled with it for its first 4 seasons. A great group watch. It took some risks that paid off. After that, it was totally downhill, to the point I would never re-watch it and don’t even really like talking about it.
It was a fun cultural phenomenon, felt like the last time we would all watch something together as a monoculture. Even as it got bad it was still something to talk about every week when it was on. I didn't know anyone who watched Twin Peaks Return in real life.
I don’t think fantasy is bad or anything but the whole witches, dragons, ancient scrolls thing has just never been something I’m interested in
Hard agree. There are probably exceptions I’m not thinking of but generally I’m pretty out on fantasy
I tried to describe The Return to a somewhat movie adventurous co-worker when it was about to debut and he looked at like me like he was going to have me committed.
my brain isn't built for it haha, like I'm not learning a new language or whatever the fuck a Jigglypuff is or whatever
Oh shit, I'll switch to popular opinions Lord of the Rings is the best and only good fantasy series and everything will always be compared to it and it will never be beaten Big Bang Theory sucks ass Sydney Sweeney Pedro Pascal Jimmy Fallon is absolutely terrible Sony is screwing up their Spider verse Zack Snyder hasn't had a good movie since 300 and the Synder cut is a joke I couldn't think of other popular things off of the top of my head. Oh wait, Scorsese is peak cinema
