It Comes at Night was definitely the most disappointing experience so far. To be honest, there hasn't been much I've seen this year that I've loved. I think the only thing I saw that I thought reached greatness was A Ghost Story. Even Song to Song, which I thought had a perfect ending, didn't hit me as hard as I thought it would. There's a lot I need to catch up on though.
I feel like I don't see it talked about much (I'm also not a big gamer so if it is I have no idea haha) but Growlanser II has the funnest battle system ever omg I love it. You can play a zillion times (which i have lol) and have completely different strategies and outcomes each time and then in addition to all that u can have all the different gems attached to the rings for even more outcomes and I can play for hours. masterpiece!!!
Worst movies I've seen this year are We Are The Flesh (Tenemos la carne) and The Mummy. I guess that's not a controversial opinion though so uhhh... Dunkirk was the best movie I've seen this year.
That scene didn't work for me thanks to the unrealistic lack of violence which for me undermined the majority of the action scenes.
Hahah yes! Very much agreed. I like the excuse to see my family but that’s about it. In fact, if I’m being honest, Christmas has always made me feel a little bit depressed. Halloween is the only holiday I care about cause it’s a reason to dress up and get drunk
Once you get to the age where you are spending more on gifts than the monetary value of the gifts you receive, it just becomes another bill.
I just don’t like the idea of obligated gift buying. I like buying people stuff when I see something and think, “oh ——— would like this.” For similar reasons I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day and have made a point of warning my girlfriends of this fact.
I love Valentine's as just a reminder day to show ppl u care. Some ppl are already good at this, but some ppl might be so busy and caught up in work and stuff they need a nice reminder like hey, show someone u care. And that's Valentine's to me. I've never seen it I guess as like an exclusively romantic thing and it's my 2nd fave holiday
New Years is the only one I really enjoy, but that is only because I am always out of the country on New Years and I get to see how other people get drunk and embarrass themselves.
what’s funny is that it’s sort of been co-opted by religion. Well, not Christmas exactly but pagans have been celebrating the winter solstice before Christmas was a thing
I usually go to Europe every winter. I have been able to watch New Years in Athens, London, Rome, and Venice.
I've never cared for Xmas. I think Xmas has such hype that I always get a lil sad that it isn't like the movies. It's never that magical or fantastical. It is so talked up that I think I've always gotten depressed when I see it's just a regular old day.
