The fact that he apparently got fired for making sexual remarks about a 13-year old and then went on to have a profitable career is both nauseating and sadly demonstrative about how little our world cares about anything.
He went on trial for felony animal cruelty charges in the early 2000's for a bit he did called "roadkill bbq" where he aired live audio of a boar being slaughtered on air (I listened to it live as an 11 year old). He got acquitted on an idiotic " well the state allows horseracing and that's cruelty under your definition too so.." defence It was a big local news story in Tampa Bay when it happened.
A lot of those talk show guys would move between Tampa, Orlando, and sometimes Atlanta. Drew Garabo had to leave Orlando for Tampa after fighting another on-air personality. Shannon Burke had to leave for Ocala after shooting his dog by accident, I believe. I listened to a lot of them in middle school. I don't know if they are more embarrassing than reading Maddox and Tucker Max online at around the same time.
The northern people would probably flip who the real Florida is but the divide is important for outsiders to understand.
I defer to outsiders tbh. When people talk about going to Florida or loving Florida, no one is ever talking about fucking Pensacola or Gainesville. No one is ever like "yeah I just bought a condo in Tallahassee". "Yeah my favorite vacation spot, Lake City."
There are plenty of stereotypical "Florida Man" guys south of Ocala lol The problem is most stereotypical "Florida Man" guys are actually transplants from Ohio
All the most annoying people around here still have their out-of-state tags. The rare person over 40 that was actually born here is usually pretty calm and tolerable. It is the racist New Yorkers who think it is some sort of far-right paradise that ruins it.
Wait that's the name of a PERSON!?! I assumed it was some weird marine creature people had become invested in.
All those guys were leeching off of Howard Stern's audience so when he went to XM they started to fade away.
Good morning from Los Angeles, heard there’s a big avalanche coming so I’m scanning my apartment building for pets to consume
Almost all the local theaters got rid of their early showings since the pandemic. I used to always go to them.
