I feel similarly about Adam Conover. The videos & topics are good, im interested in the guest for his podcast but he grates on me. I use him as a good source for non fiction books
Adam Sandler is not particularly funny. He has been in some movies and delivered some funny lines but that is in the script and the filmmaking. He is not naturally funny in interviews or off the cuff.
Wait so you're telling me the super hilarious voice he does all the time where he does stimming fingers at the same time isn't funny???
His standup on Netflix is good. I would agree he’s never appeared super funny off the cuff, but always seemed like a decent enough guy.
Idk Sandler is good at being both the straight man and the goofball depending on the movie. He’s hilarious in That’s My Boy (an underrated comedic masterpiece)
I laughed too much at his album in middle school to fully commit to saying he isn’t funny now. But sometimes my tastes are simple and stuff like the Longest Pee is still funny to me
It isn't a criticism of him as a person. Most people are not funny. I just think that there were a lot of people who came up around the same time as him who are naturally funnier with much less success.
My only gripe with Sandler is keeping Rob Schneider’s career alive for years. Otherwise, he’s done no wrong film wise
This is true. It’s kind of like freestylers who can’t out together a proper hip-hop song to save their lives. They have the skill, just no clue how to sell it to people.
Hes a good comedic actor. His jokes arnt funny because they are particularly clever, he makes them fun with his face, voice and body. You cant tell a Sandler joke and it be funny, you have to impersonate the whole bit
The past few days seeing the baffling amount of whitewashed revisionist history many people have about the 60's civil rights/anti-vietnam era made me develop a theory that Forrest Gump might be the single most effective piece of cultural propaganda that America has produced in the last 50 years.
I like how you picked one of the worst dishes to go with your opinion. You want a chicken Parm from a movie theater? You know that's going to be rubbery as fuck.
Eating a fat meal at home with a movie is always great but cant do it in a movie theater. I dont ever even get snacks at the movies though. I've gone to dine in theaters plenty of times and its just awkward as fuck every time, never been to an Alamo tho. I hear they do it well.
