I have fallen out of seeing movies in the past like 6 years. I barely see anything now. Quite a shame. The last movie I rated on Letterboxed was 2017
If she’s a Nicole Byer and/or Lauren Lapkus fan at all, try watching them along with the Newcomers podcast. Very funny (assuming you don’t mind people really disliking both franchises) and I’ve heard it’s been a fun way to discover both
I wanted to watch a good Robert Downey Jr movie from the 2000s that wasn’t Kiss Kiss Bang Bang the other day…evidently those don’t really exist, so I watched Iron Man. It’s aight, kinda whatever but it feels like a comic book in a good way The Singing Detective is up today…maybe this is the Downey Jr deep cut i desire
Oh yeah, that one’s good. But i didnt wanna look at that facial hair for 2 hours. I oughta, it’s been a while Wonder Boys deserves a shout out too RDJ is an amazing movie star, which probably means he’s great actor, but he’s not a dexterous talent, so much as an irrisistably charismatic personality
Not from the 2000's but my favorite pre-Iron Man RDJ movie is probably Less Than Zero. Not as good as the book, but still a good flick. I would argue perhaps a better Ellis adaptation than American Psycho.
I was somewhat entertained by Genysis and Dark Fate but yeah, you nailed it. The stuff they did with the Terminator’s growth and John Connor just shouldn’t have been messed with. 3 isn’t too good but works as a nice Coda I suppose. Salvation’s story was kinda lame but I was excited for a trilogy about the war and Bale as John Connor, so was bummed when it got scrapped. They coulda brought Arnold back too
i want to watch this one, but the rotoscope is a big hurdle it’s cool its just never what im in the mood for
