I saw The Fast and the Furious in theaters back when it first came out and never had any desire to see 2 Fast 2 Furious or any of the other ones, although I am impressed it has gone on this long, and the trailers whenever a new one is coming out look like ridiculous fun. It's pretty impressive that anything that started with a movie directed by Rob Cohen has had legs like this series.

Five is the best. Seven is when it starts to go off the rails with all the spy stuff. It starts out fine with Jason Statham on a revenge hunt, but once God’s Eye gets introduced it falls apart a bit. It’s also the one where you can feel the Rock turn into the winking at the camera guy.

 

The OG is still my favorite. That movie was huge in my school, I remember kids talking about it when it was still called Redline. The LA street racing culture was huge, I wasn't into it, but a ton of my friends had shitty CRVs they were trying to fix up. I like where they've gone, but I still reach for the original more often than any others.

anyone ever been on the fast and furious ride at universal orlando? worst shit in the world right? comedic value for sure i was laughing so hard when vin diesel flies by hanging onto the ski of a helicopter via the worst cgi youve ever seen in your life

 

I spent 3 days at the parks the same year that ride opened and I didn’t even bother with it

It's pretty widely considered the worst Universal ride. In the early pandemic days they didn't even bother reopening it. Some days they don't even bother with the pre-shows.

 

My biggest beef with the first movie is that Brian has a crush on this girl and as a grown man goes into her restaurant every day to order a tuna sandwich with the crusts cut off?! Who wrote that!

I often order a BLAT with no bacon and feel kinda silly but such is life when there are no good vegetarian options in the menu. I can't imagine ever asking a restaurant to remove the crusts tho lmao
