We have a few dine-in theaters but nothing like that. I feel like that setup is just asking people to talk during the movie. I love nice recliners and premium screens as much as the next moviegoer but I still prefer to catch most at my local indie with regular non-stadium seats. Nostalgia and supporting local businesses are a helluva pairing lol.
We had a cinema pub back home similar to those Chunky's theaters, it was cool at first but the novelty wore off quickly. They always left the lights on through the entire movie no matter what and the food was like chain restaurant quality but priced like an actual nice local pub.
There is perfectly good and delicious chain restaurant food out there and I'm sick of pretending like there isn't.
i like the 99 as much as the next guy but if I'm paying $20 a plate minimum I want something a bit higher quality
Chunky's is fine for seeing comedies or kids movies where it doesn't really matter if people are moving around and making noise, plus the kids love it. For seeing an actual movie it's a terrible spot. They also do themed cocktails and sometimes food for the big movies but it is pretty low level food
I try to order from local pizza places but sometimes you just need a Pizza Hut pan pizza with parmesan sauce with extra cheese.
Haha wild that it's such a large chain and I've still never heard of it. Guess they aren't on the east coast :P
I was thinking places like Applebees/Chilis/etc. no one’s batting an eye if you say you like to eat fast food.
My closest movie theatre is in the mall, so I usually buy my ticket like 45 minutes beforehand, and get some food court teriyaki or something before I head in.
