Discord is truly terrible. Like, I know “good” Discord servers exist, but the user experience is terrible.
There’s ice cream, which is made with dairy (or now dairy replacements), and Italians make the best version of. Then there is sorbet, which is made with water. That’s therefore “water ice”. It is lighter than ice cream and often available in quite different flavours than ice cream. It is indeed more suited for a lot of berry flavours than ice cream, the major exception being strawberry ice cream. Some popsicles are also called “water ice”. But those are for babies. Whatever else allegedly exists you uncultured swine can keep. Just kidding. But only kinda.
Discord is a net positive if only because it became a rock for a bunch of weirdos to migrate under so that I don’t have to see their opinions on a regular basis
I want to make a "only Discord I need is dis cord" joke, but I actually need multiple cords. Just not dat one.
small discords are fine. I get overwhelmed with huge ones and always leave them even if it's for something I really like, like a boardgame or something lol
Every time I use discord I lose my mind just trying to navigate the servers and channels. Just gotta bring back AIM but leave it exactly how it was in like 2007, linkin park sound bites and all
Nick and Mitch post in it and interact with fans pretty regularly but I stopped looking when I stopped listening
I have a take for this thread: the medium of podcasting as a whole was more interesting when it was mostly amateurs with no interest in monetisation and nobody cared about podcasts. I say this as someone that was initially happy when podcasts really started breaking through.
But it's also a logical progression from radio shows that are an obsolete medium. Frasier would have a podcast
It’s not just famous people and broadcasting professionals that made it less interesting though, it’s also amateurs that have figured out ways to monetise their shows. Also I should clarify a lot of the shows by broadcasting professionals (many of which are also radio shows) for example are good.. They just aren’t really what podcasts were to me.
People who own bitcoin shouldn't be allowed to do podcasts or do anything else is basically the gist of it
