It’s a good ep of PT:R. Fandoms are fine and fun. They’re great ways to connect with other like-mindes people. I think it’s bad when people take it too seriously and, like, make the thing their entire lives or use the thing they love to hurt others like stans often do.
I was friends with a former Disney World princess in college. She said "just imagine Cinderella in full costume and makeup smoking a cigarette while screaming at her boyfriend on the phone"
I was definitely way too into Star Wars at a certain point. Then TLJ came out and the discourse showed me the really ugly side of the fandom and it kind of opened my eyes to what that kind of obsession can lead to.
One time I was in line for a ride at Disneyland and this lil girl had to pee and her mom didn't want to lose their spot in line so she had her kid pee right there in the line of people instead of idk asking us to save her spot which we totally would've. My cousin has worked at Disney for years and I have a lot of family that lives down there in general so my instagram feed has a lot of Disney posts on it cause I'm pretty sure they have the season passes or whatever. It always looks cute and fun. But then I remember the pee line.
Grave of the Fireflies did next to nothing for me when I saw it years ago, felt like it was trying so hard to pull every emotional string that it fell flat. Same problem I had with Dear Zachary, that doc blows.
I was at Disney world the other day and over heard a worker there say they went on vacation too CA and went to Disneyland. That’s just insane behavior.
A lot of the Disney employees I know are cheerleaders for the company. They spend their days off as the parks.
I typed a big long post and as I was going to post it, the alert for a new post in a thread came up and I hit it by accident, and lost the post I'd just typed. Don't cry for me, Argentina. I'm already dead. :(
In one of the OVAs of DanMachi, the pharmacist god Diancecht has opened a health spa in Orario, and it's become super popular. Because Diancecht is always sus with a capital SUS, several characters start investigating, and in the course of this, main character Bell Cranel ends up drinking the water. Anyway, one thing leads to another, and the cast finds out the effects of the water are caused by Diancecht's follower, Amid, bathing in the water source. Upon learning this, Bell freaks out and exclaims "I drank that?!" Amid responds, equally freaked out, "You WHAT?!" I felt compelled to share this. This is the post that got deleted. I probably shouldn't be posting it to begin with, but here we are, Chorus. Here we are.
