My local theater is in a shopping mall so I usually just hit up the food court beforehand so I'm not hungry during the movie.
Movie theater food sucks, is over priced, and is horrible for you. Better to sneak in a ziplock full of spaghetti.
I worked at a theater pretty recently. Never eat the hot dogs lol. We would put them on a grill right in the morning, leave it on for 2 hours, and then put it in a bun/warmer. They’d sit in there for hours until eventually someone would order one, and we’d have to swap out the hardened bun to make them think it was new. Disgusting.
I hate how they use that fake butter sauce that could probably be an alternative fuel source because god knows what's in it
Occasionally will bring in some cheap candy from dollar tree and still get a soda at the concession stand. Not sure I’ve ever been to a movie without at least a drink.
I can only get out to the theater with my wife once every few months and we wasted this last trip on The Whale at like 10am.
I'm slightly agoraphobic so the perfect movie theatre time for me is like morning to afternoon on a tuesday.
If I get food there, I get the kids pack. Just enough popcorn to satisfy what I want, soda with free refills and a small pack of fruit snacks. Everyone goes home happy.
I still mask in theaters so popcorn is a little complicated unless it’s not packed in there. But even then I won’t know til I’m inside and by then going back to the lobby to wait in line sounds like a bad time. Works out though cause yeah it like doubles the cost of a theater experience and I don’t miss that at all
The few times I have ever gone to a theater I’ve always brought in snacks. Shocking how much they charge and how people constantly complain but then just buy it all anyway but I guess that’s part of being a human.
if you want the theater to stay open you better hope people are buying concessions my go to theater snack is cookie dough bites and a white cherry slushy
If I'm ever in the mood for theater popcorn before I go, I will pack a ziplock bag of diced jalapeños and sprinkle them on top of my popcorn when I'm in my seat.
I get popcorn for big blockbusters at AMC. At Alamo i might get a beer and a burger. Sometimes at an arthouse theater if it has a nice cafe i'll do a snack or a coffee. Otherwise, if im going to theater multiple times that week, i might skip out on concessions. There's no set in stone rule with this for me
I wish the Alamo had a smaller-sized popcorn option. Now that I'm older, I can't do a giant tub anymore without feeling awful afterward.
