Might be a hot take now, but I think "Home Alone 2" mostly sucks.

 

i’ve been saying HA2 isn’t good for a while. it’s just follows the exact general layout of the first one, only it’s in NYC

the original Home Alone is goated but Lost in NY is still just such a fun watch every year

also, distaste for Bill Murray aside, A Very Murray Christmas is an absolute must-watch for me every year. that cast's rendition of Fairytale of NY is incredible.

 

Lost in NY is fun. It is virtually the same movie in a different setting, but it works.

 

Yeah I love it but it's nowhere near as good as the first

 

Yeah Home Alone 2 is great

 

Plus it has this banger.

 

A Very Murray Christmas is the best Christmas movie.

Bill Murray stinks and all that sure. But there was absolutely something deeper in this and it’s funny to read all the negative LB reviews criticizing the film for being “uninspired”. I need to think on this one, but it’s certainly special

 

“Home Alone 2” just gets too mean spirited for me. Like, I can take 2 idiots getting CTE from paint cans, but it just seems to take a little too much glee in torturing them.

 

What's a better Christmas movie?

 

It really gets into that feeling of not being a part of the holiday spirit for whatever reason but still being part of it because of how inescapable it can be.
