There was a brief time period last year where I was buying three bottles of their Peri Peri sauce at a time because it was so good. I keep one at work and one at home. plantain chips are a must cauliflower gnocchi is great You could almost convince me that Joe-Joe’s are better than regular Oreos pork-less rinds are honestly great
Jalapeño seasoned corn and rice puffs Soy cherry chocolate chip ice cream Vegetable fried rice Elote corn chip dippers Double roasted salsa Sweet potato gnocchi Dark chocolate peanut butter cups Cacio y Pepe ravioli Chocolate hummus Ghost pepper waffle chips Their cold pressed juices are all decent, except for the big green one They have sauces that are basically their versions of Big Mac sauce and Taco Bell fire sauce, called Magnifisauce and Spicy Taco Sauce respectively
the only way to shop at Trader Joe's is to approach it like you have never been in not just a TJS but a grocery store before and just go purely feral and spend $50 on snacks
I always thought she was hoping Hillary would win so that she’s get to play her on a regular basis for four years
But her Hillary Clinton "impression" was so bad. It was done better by other SNL actors over the thirty years of her public life.
I love Trader Joe's chili, but I hate that they don't have a pull top. Whenever I try to open the can with a can opener, it always gives me a hard time and it's super frustrating.
Yeah I don't even think Kate McKinnon is that great of a sketch actress. She has one character that she does very well but she does it in literally every sketch, she really doesn't seem to have much range. Not to pit them against each other but I really wish Cecily Strong got the attention that Kate does, she is absolutely phenomenal. Like, maybe one of the best cast members ever
I just don't see her making a successful post-SNL transition to TV and movies. She was probably told she's the next Fey or Poehler, but I have a feeling she's going to end up like Fallon, someone with a broad mass appealing corporate friendly personality that bombs as an actor and is probably going to end up getting a daytime talkshow where she plays charades with celebrities or something.
Feels like a weird take, but I'm in a family that shops at Trader Joe's for things other than snacks.
the produce section in ours is like 12 sq feet. the rest of the store is mostly dedicated to freezer food.
Although who knows? Post-SNL careers could go anywhere. Like 6 or 7 years ago I used to think "Will Forte is getting all these cool roles like Nebraska, but it sucks that Bill Hader only seems to get voice acting and character actor work" and then that completely changed when Forte's Fox show got canceled and Barry came out.
Finally got around to watching Another Round - I must be a cynic beyond saving because I thought it was a great premise but a really poorly executed movie. For starters, for a bunch of guys conducting their experiment with scientific precision, there's absolutely no discussion about the prolonged effect of alcohol on the body - pissing the bed and watching your wife leave are shown to be the only side effects, completely ignoring liver failure/cirrhosis, the constant illness that comes with heavy drinking, etc. It was a very shallow and convenient look at what really is a dangerous disease with huge effects on the body. I honestly felt like I was watching a Danish propaganda film at points, but perhaps this is just how Danish people live? Every five minutes of the movie, someone was breaking into song about how wonderful Denmark is; the young people appear to be militaristically focused on their grades; everything has a very pastoral, small-town vibe to it. It really was hard to delve into this movie for me because I couldn't relate to the decisions of the characters, I don't understand the mindsets of that culture. And then boom, their close friend dies from alcohol-related reasons, and the resolution to this is to have a musical/dance number to end the film, singing "I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive!" ??? Just a truly bizarre viewing experience
