If “Pete’s Dragon” is considered a live action remake, then that’s the best one. “The Jungle Book” isn’t bad either.
Good lord I though Aladdin was absolute hot garbage. One of the worst looking movies I’ve seen in years.
For sure, it looks bad. All of the Disney live action are aesthetically hideous and cheap looking even though they have enormous budgets. But Aladdin is the only one I've seen that had any life to it and all the credit there goes to Smith. The few others I've seen weren't just bad they were bad and dull.
They're just all such weird expensive cover versions, like why get Beyonce involved if it's all essentially just karaoke

Any director gets one or two of those projects to pay the bills. You just have to hope they don't get addicted to the money.
