Forte is legitimately a great actor and I’d say he’s a comedic genius. Last Man on Earth ended up being a masterpiece, MacGruber rules, and he’s perfectly subtle and understated in Nebraska. And on top of all that, any interview or podcast or whatever he’s done, he just seems like the nicest dude ever.
I hated what I saw of Last Man on Earth. I only got halfway through the first season because it was pretty bad.
The first season is rocky for some people (I loved it right away) but from the second season on, it mostly gets better and better. Hilarious and packed a lot of emotional wallops. It’s a seriously incredible show.
I love Forte but do not care for MacGruber. Except for the scene where he sends Wiig to get a coffee and goes out of his way to describe step by step how to purchase and consume the coffee
The way he builds up how much he loves ripping out throats and then that first time he actually does it? Iconic scene
I know you're being sarcastic, but it's legitimately scary how many people (at least in the twittersphere) seem to really believe this.
Shutter Island is among Scorsese's worst. Boxcar Bertha is probably the champion, but that has the excuse of being early contract work. Scorsese has been on his best streak in a long time since then, though.
I’ve probably seen him in things without knowing it but I’ve never even heard or seen the name Will Forte before. Surprised to see such universal praise for someone I’ve never heard of. I’m so out of the loop lol
The first Austin Powers holds up as a funny movie. It’s more of a subtle satire compared to the sequels. The sequel movies had more production money so they felt the need to up the jokes for broader appeal, which hasn’t aged well.
As a young teen, that first one put it into my mind that you don’t kiss or try take advantage of someone when they’re drunk. That sadly was not taught to us and should have been common sense, but it was nice for them to have that in there.
