He has moments. When he hits, he makes me spit-take. I just wish he'd lean more toward wit and less toward the desperate raunch.
I finally watched The Godfather parts 1 and 2 this weekend, back to back, and I really don't care for either. I don't get the hype. I mean the acting is great, and the production and design is well done, but the stories themselves are bland. It didn't impact me emotionally at all, and I didn't care for the fate of any of the characters. It's like, you involve yourselves in lives of crime, you're going to create trouble for yourself. I'm not mentally prepared to debate any of this, but just had it get it off my chest. I know I'm most likely in a very small minority who have this opinion, but whatever
watched godfather 2 a couple summers ago for the first time at the coolidge (with an intermission!) and that was one of the best theater experiences i had in recent memory
best sequel these eyes ever saw, give or take a before from texas rick if me saying that turns into a superfluous debate about What The Best Sequel Actually Is, i'm deeply sorry
Godfather will always be one of those boring movies my dad would watch instead of letting me watch cartoons even tho he was sleeping but when I tried to change the channel he said he was just resting his eyes.
a big mistake people make with The Godfather is thinking it's a crime movie. It's really a movie about an immigrant family in America. It's right there in the opening line!
I am very envious of that. I think mine might be catching The Long Goodbye there with Elliott Gould in attendance or seeing Agnes Varda present Faces Places at the Harvard Film Archive.
I disagree with that statement lol but I know I’m in the minority, so at least I’m in the right place
Like, I wouldn’t scoff at someone saying it’s the best horror of all time. It has a good argument for it.
The correct answer (along with The Road Warrior and The Empire Strikes Back and Addams Family Values)
Will never understand why none of the 35 Terminator sequels could even get close to the quality of T2 - so many chances, yet failure after failure. Now since the stories have gone so many different directions, that it's essentially useless to watch any of them.
