Seinfeld and Friends both make me laugh. A lot. But Frasier is better than both. And Niles Crane played by the ingenious David Hyde Pierce has has got to be in the running for best sitcom character of all-time.
Frasier is definitely far superior to Friends, which, honestly, has always been just okay at best. I can't decide if I like Seinfeld or Frasier better... or Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The first 5 years of Friends are quite unbeatable. Definitely falls off in the last few seasons but I still adore it from start to finish. I simply won't hear anyone telling me that seasons 2-4 are bad.
Maybe I was a bit harsh in my assessment. It's not that Friends hasn't be good at times, but Frasier and Seinfeld are just in a different league to me. Most people whom I talk to that have watched all three tend to agree, especially those who grew up on Seinfeld and Friends, and have only watched Frasier recently. They almost unanimously agree that Frasier is the better show of the three. That's just my experience though.
I prefer Friends to Seinfeld and I know that's unpopular, just have a hard time relating or connecting as much to the characters on Seinfeld
I want to be Jerry but at various times I have seen the worst aspects of George, Elaine, and Kramer within myself.
The dynamic between George and his parents mirrors my real life so much that is hard to even laugh at it. I started watching Seinfeld at such a young age that I do not know if it nudged me toward certain ideas and traits.
it has informed so much of how I see the world. I would be an entirely different person without it, no doubt. and yes, it is painfully relatable at times for me as well
Even at a young age it was speaking in a way that I understood but could not articulate. There was nothing really like it at the time, and while that type of humor has become much more popular, it is still the gold standard.
I often think Curb is better than Seinfeld and just looking at their post-Seinfeld careers often leads me to the conclusion that Larry David was the real brains behind that operation. Also, and this probably isn't unpopular, but JLD > Jerry Seinfeld.
Seinfeld became unwatchable once Larry David left the show. Bee Movie and Curb Your Enthusiasm are all the evidence one needs.
