Locus Ultra teasing. They said there’s an ep when it was all happening. giving carrollhood vibes. Those eps are criminally underrated. I think of the Tampa ep release with all the underoath, anberlin, and Copeland side projects as fondly as some of the best uo shows I’ve ever seen. That was an amazing time to be living in Florida. The underoath arena show that anberlin reunited at was also bonkers.
that graphic's been there since they started the account, but i wouldn't be surprised if they kept that name for the EP i'd sell my soul for new Carrollhood
Tim needs to write and sing more. I get that they did it when their respective bands were on hiatus and there’s probably not a lot of time, but some steady releases every couple of years would have been awesome. That show was so special. Reed ( the third dude in carrollhood) has some pretty killer songs he put out solo around that time.
The snippet makes me think this is going to lean more on the atmosphere that was present on Voyeurist and missing on POTATO due to its in your face nature. Or it's just copium. Here for whatever this is.
Why do I feel like it's something completely different and not even in the vein of post-hardcore/metalcore? I feel like this is a project where they literally can do whatever they want and I think that is a clash between Tim's hip hop influences mixed with Chris and it's going to get really weird. Personally, I hope it's more new Oath sounding stuff, but the side project aspect is giving me different vibes.
That’s my guess too. More Chris and Tim steering the ship. Probably my favorite post hiatus song is no frame, I love Pneumonia, and Disambiguation rips. Whenever Tim is cooking, I really dig what comes of it. Spencer and Aaron are great songwriters, but whenever they gave too much creative control it veers in a direction that isn’t my preference. Still cool, but I prefer when it’s weird, novel, and has some teeth as opposed to the pop songs and catchy hooks.
Looks like a signed CD or vinyl? I'm more and more intrigued. Would be killer if they went super heavy. Or maybe it's a compilation of different genre efforts. I dunno, color me stoked.
it looks like some Locus Ultra typography is superimposed on top of the tracklist (which is also a bit obscured). i'm wondering if that's a vinyl mockup or if the tracks are done and ready to release
Back when they were doing those Voyeurist track by track videos, I remember them saying they'd love to expand on the album's universe by doing more stuff or something along those lines. They didn't after all, but I'm guessing they brought that idea back for this album?
Aside from Erase Me (kinda), their post-reunion efforts per album have been great. Erase Me had some cool imagery and typography. Voyeurist with the Digital Ghost and then Voyeurist web cab to listen to new songs. And then The release of this one has been cool with Locus Ultra. Glad to know they still want to do stuff like this because it kind of proves my comment wrong about them not really caring too much anymore.
Locus Ultra Edition Signed Vinyl + T-Shirt Bundle - 01 Ultra vinyl edition and some limited merch. If they are eventually releasing an ep under this name I’m confused lol. I don’t have the new album on vinyl yet and this is a pretty cool one off. All my under oath vinyl is limited or one off. This is kind of enticing.
Tim and Chris just went live on IG and played snippets of demos. The ones Tim shared, with his placeholder screams/whispers, sounded insane. Really heavy, Everyone Looks So Good From Here / My Deteriorating Incline vibes. Funny enough, another one sent by Aaron he played immediately sounded more like Loneliness or On My Teeth instead. The push and pull between the two pair of songwriters in the band continues to fascinate me.
When asked about playing more Disambiguation songs live or anything in regards to that album, they said they had a "plan for a thing", whatever that means.
