This is incredible on a "OG singer rejoins for a song" basis alone but knowing how much Dallas has been through, to see him back onstage... Wonder if he's the rumored guest vocalist on the new album
if they brought Dallas back for a feature that would do more to interest me in this album than any of these songs so far
If/when they do a DTGL anniversary tour I hope they try the “fan voted” set again with better software. The Silverstein tour with a similar concept seems to be working really well. Just need to hear some more Ø in their set.
Any word on whatever happened with Maylene? I figured they’d be kicking back up again after that single and then nothing.
A fan voted set again at this point would just test my patience. I’ll always see the band if they come around but I’d be annoyed as hell if they did this again and the encore set just became reinventing/dangerous business/boy brushed + 2-3 more old songs or singles, which it inevitably would. If anyone in the band has any interest in playing anything more recent, these tours were their opportunity to just do them without fear of attracting or losing people.
They should just do a deep cuts encore. Billed under “pulling out all the stops celebrating the whole discography” and have it be different every night. That is what was essentially hyped and then it was just their most popular songs every night with the strange inclusion of When the sun Sleeps a bunch. What would get me psyched would be Lost and Disambiguation Play throughs . Bonus if Daniel plays Disambiguation. Tim said if they ever did those songs he should be there because he wrote and recorded them.
Yea I’ve said it ad nauseum before but if we honestly cant take out even 1-3 songs out of 16 and replace em with deep cuts then even an observatory playthrough of disambig would be a nice consolation. Heck, I’d even travel to Tampa if they thought it’d be safer to do in their own backyard. Just gimme *something,* man. I need to see catch myself catching myself again before I die.
They are definitely capable of longer sets (TOCS x DTGL tour) and putting in some deep cuts. We'll see what this new album cycle brings.
That Dallas video is incredible. As an Alabamian, Maylene always held a special place in my heart, and Dallas/Underoath was always this thing of lore. I'm not sure if there ever was beef, probably with these dudes, but it was perceived, so to see a "bury the hatchet" moment like this is incredible. Wild that this and Scogin with Norma Jean happened within a couple months of each other. Time heals all wounds.
Yeah never thought I would see them play Sun Sleeps again(at Furnace Fest 2021) let alone Dallas come out for a guest spot at a show. Wild times. Love to see it.
He got into a very bad ATV accident in 2016, bad to the point he lost sight in one eye and suffered brain trauma among other injuries. The first few years I remember his mom being the one to give updates about his health through a gofundme and his instagram page. It was unlikely he'd ever go back to music but he kept showing improvement over time and now here we are.
Super fucking smash. This is so cool to see. I forgot just how bad the accident he was in was, but reading about it again. Fuck.
yeah just watched that video and it got me emotional as hell. amazing to see Dallas performing again after how close he came to dying, truly inspirational stuff I hope that new Maylene album is still in the works, the first two stay in my rotation
In recent interviews he mentioned he was still recovering and that performing takes a lot out of him physically. I assume they're working on new stuff when his body allows him to, so it'll probably take a bit longer for an album to come.
Hoping for a song drop and an announcement this month. With 3 out and a massive anniversary tour done seems imminent.
March seems too fast honestly. Coheed and Spiritbox announced over a month ago and theirs are due in March.
