Yeah I would be surprised if the album doesn't come out this fall. I predict an October/early November release, much like DIsambiguation. If they still plan on playing the latter + Erase Me as part of the Observatory releases, it would be cool if they added the new album as well. Like play the first two as a lead up to the release, then the new one the week it comes out.
Was left feeling very apathetic about this band’s future after Erase Me and this bought me right back in. Song whips ass
Did I just listen to the song fifty times in a row... maybe. I haven't felt this excited since the Disambiguation era. I hope the rest lives up to the hype they've got going on now.
I would be shocked if the band didn’t like Erase Me after everything they’ve said and done in the promotional cycle for that record. I’ll never understand the hate that record gets. Truly, it baffles me when I see the harsh reactions online. Aside from Wake Me, I think it’s an awesome heavy record that leans in just a little more into their anthemic abilities. Squire did a solid job on production because it sounds massive and I doubt UØ regrets that record since it was also a pretty successful record for them too.
Tbf when Erase Me came out I had it on repeat for like a week or two. It just fizzled for me immediately after that and I pretty much never went back. The one or two times I tried I didn’t make it through without skipping around a bunch. In the end my hype couldn’t make up for the lack of substance — just wasn’t what I wanted from them
Well half the songs on Erase Me sounded like songs Feldmann wrote for late stage Chiodos that they turned them down, so... yeah this is a good return to form. Also its kind of funny how Norma Jean and Underoath got lumped together in the initial Christian metalcore scene but have maybe never sounded more alike than right now.
I bought Erase Me to support them, jammed it hard for about a week and then never had any desire to return to it. It was appropriately titled.
Erase Me had its moments, but if it weren't Underoath, I probably wouldn't have listened to it much. This is great, though. Love the fact that it leans into LITSOS.
I'm saying Erase Me sounded like that, not that it actually happened. Sorry if that was worded poorly.
There’s moments of greatness on erase me where they kinda just embrace nine inch nails/industrial worship and I wouldn’t mind if they went into that sound more. But also they can just pretend that album never happened lol.
Erase Me holds a special place in my heart. there are a couple meh cuts there, but i enjoy a good amount of the experimental/industrial production. and lyrically it coincided with my journey out of Evangelical Christianity, so there are some pertinent parallels on that end.
