Minneapolis. They probably did it in other cities, too. It's crazy how much money Tooth and Nail had back then to throw at their bands.
Sometimes I forget just how massive those T&N/SS bands were at that time. Stacked line-up. What sort of insane warped tour routing had Minneapolis and Tampa in the same week, haha. I saw them on their myspace secret show in Tampa on Tuesday, then again at Warped Tour in Tampa three days later on Friday.
Yep. I was aware of who they were cuz my best friend was really into them. That Writing On The Walls vid was on all the time, and I started to get hooked.

I didn’t know that Ken Andrews of Failure mixed this record - AWESOME!! The record does sound great whether you like the songs or not.
I didn't either but knowing how the other non-Failture albums he produced or mixed sound like (similarly very on the boomy side), it now makes sense. I wonder if they're going to go with him again.
not going to pretend to have heard every single record he's produced or mixed, but i've heard quite a lot bc of being a huge fan of his band, and this is pretty easily the worst record i've heard that he's worked on in any capacity. i think he could push them to be better but i wouldn't be surprised if they work with someone else, though erase me being doodoo is hardly his fault.
Yeah I totally agree, though I feel like people attributed some of the records' faults to Matt Squire instead? I haven't watched it since it came out, but the studio documentary made it seem like Matt would give tons of input and that he pushed the band to be all in on the more conventional sound they opted for.
I would attribute some of that to Squire for sure but also Spencer and Aaron too. They all wanted a more conventional sound and I think it worked (aside from “Wake Me”) for the most part! I personally wouldn’t be mad if they went back to Squire for the new LP but I have a feeling it’s either self produced or someone totally new to the band.
