Got mine today. Already skipping on "Young and Aspiring." Also, the edges of the record are sharp and put a nice hole in the record sleeve before I even opened it. I have an LP-60, which I know isn't great. Still a great record, though. Edit: Yikes, "Dangerous Business" skips a LOT.
I have this same turntable and have upgraded the needle a couple of times. Unfortunately mine skips pretty bad.
I've got the same: My TOCS never skipped- I'll check the other two tonight and let you know. Honestly, just sounds like faulty records/presses and to put the blame on the record players is wild.
So - I emailed about TOCS and got turned away numerous times like other people in this forum. I went ahead and started a dispute on PayPal, which got denied because the order was more than 180 days ago. Right after that, got another email from transmissions@ that seemed a little more personal. We'll see where this goes. I just asked for another disc or a 1/3 refund.
I still haven’t gotten mine so I went ahead with a charge back. Fuck this noise. I understand that pressing plants are under pressure but I feel like fans have been pretty patient considering it’s been now 9 months and this is simply not cool of management. Essentially gaslighting the fans and not offering a solution is trash.
i mean my assumption is that COVID played a major role in how disastrously the pressing was delayed, and should they repress that record down the line with another pressing plant i am sure things will go smoother. someone said that they had hinted at a Disamb. live show stream as well? if that happened i'm sure they'd re-press. we've already passed the 10-year anniv. of the album (wild) so i would imagine that's the only way we get a repress soon.
lol still waiting on mine. I got a shipping email from them this morning for my box set and it came with a tracking number. Clicked on the tracking and it says my package was delivered.......to Harlem..... I live in southern Maine. Really hope they just sent me the wrong tracking info since when I go to the order page it shows my correct address.
Interesting, I'm curious what the more personalized response said... I had messaged back forth with their manager on this project and got told pretty much harass the pressing plant. If they refund you that 1/3 please do tell, because I will 1000% do the same thing.
I got mine in march and I too live in southern, ME but they also sent my tracking 1 month after it had arrived at my house.
LOL, I just called and asked to speak to the owner of the plant, If she doesn't return my call I will call ENDLESSLY! If they block my number, I will call from friends phones. They will respond to me.
The more personalized response way, "Hey, I saw you had an issue with your order and went ahead and filed a PayPal complaint. I'd like to try and help you find a resolution. Let me know what the issue was and I'll see how I can help" After my response, he said to let him know which of the two options I wanted to move forward with.. which I'm torn... I was TOCS, but only if it works...
Just FYI you should still be able to dispute this. Disputes generally are relative to when the service or product is delivered. If paypal said this to you, you should appeal it or ask for a supervisor because the decision is wrong. If you bought via a CC attached to your PP, dispute through them if PP won't play ball.
My box set finally arrived today (I'm in London) and the box set lid is warped, the lid and box itself has marks all over it and Dangerous Biz definitely skips during the gang vocals section. Nice
