That’s a great choice, certainly one of the more accessible ones. If you like more screaming Writing On The Walls is a great highlight.
If you listen to those 3 you’ll have covered a nice amount of their range and can then decide what you like. But the beauty is they’re all so good
that is true, but i don't think BC would be hard on that anyway. though like i said, i wouldn't expect it to even be a possibility, i just like that they're friends haha
I just have NO IDEA what an Underoath album would sound like now haha.. I'm excited though the last 4 were perfect.
I never considered them to be a Christian band starting with TOSC. They have a few songs that mention God and Jesus, but Spencer has seemed to write more about his personal life or just getting out of dark times in general. Maybe the songs are inspired by Jesus, but the lyrics don’t point it out. I would put them in the same group as August Burns Red. There are Christian members but Christianity isn’t the focus of their lyrical content.
It could be that all of the members were Christian at that point and that’s why. There have been rumors that Spencer is no longer Christian, but I don’t know if they’re accurate.
Several members of the band are no longer Christians. They've talked about it in a couple of interviews.
Was one of them the BadChristian podcast? I have only listened to three interviews since they got back together.
I'm not 100% certain as it was a long time ago but I think they did discuss it on one of their BC interviews. I think I've read an article/interview about it too.
There are pretty obvious Jesus inspired lyrics in some of the songs on both records but they don’t seem to be the majority, especially when compared to older material.
Idr specific interviews or quotes off the top of my head but i was pretty sure at least Spencer and a couple others no longer identifiy as Christian and I think they explicitly said they’re no longer a Christian band. I wanna say that was after LITSOS but that part I’m less sure about. Either way, spencer could not be Christian but still have those experiences or themes come through in lyrics.
