    I do not exist.

Really enjoyed the T&N podcast. I thought it was well put together and it was certainly interesting hearing the truth behind rumours and getting a glimpse of how the band operated in those peak years of success.

    always and forever

Heard their discography earlier this summer, so I got me a fresh take.

    LITSOS
    DTGL
    DISAMBIGUATION
    TOCS

DTGL moved up a rank, it sounded so good.

A Boy Brushed Red came on shuffle today and it reminded me of a story of swimming in college.

We used to warm up for swim meets with music playing in the background. For some weird reason my coach allowed me to play one song from my iPod while we were warming up before getting into the pool. The rule was that it wasn't allowed to have cussing and it had to be a "friendly" song. Naturally I chose blink-182 "Feelin This" because they're my favorite band and I was obsessed with them in college.

What I didn't realize was that I had chosen that particular song through the "Songs" tab, which meant it would continue to shuffle my songs when that song ended. As Feelin This was ending, I made my way to the locker room to get changed into my suit to swim. As I'm standing there, ass naked, I hear the intro of "Boy Brushed Red" start up. Immediately think to myself "oh shit. No one is prepared for this".

I hurry my suit on, but it's too late. Aaron is just finishing up with "I am just a fool for you..." as Spencer blares "HEREEEEEE!! IS WHEREEEE!!"

Echoing so loudly, decibel 95, inside an enclosed pool with parents and family present. Could have been way worse, but just standing there vulnerable as the intro happened without anyone else knowing what was about to happen always reminds me of that song.

EDIT: Might not sound like a big deal, but it was a small catholic Division 3 school and I was probably the only person there that knew who Underoath was.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

I tried. Got all the way through the checkout process then told me it was sold out literally as I was hitting complete order. So frustrated.

I didn’t see that post in July until now about them possibly recording in DC but that gets me so excited. After all the touring and the promise of touring next year they have to be writing or recording right??

A Finnish guy that interviewed Aaron in April stated that Underoath had booked studio time in September.

i can't imagine a 2005 sounding metalcore album sounding good in 2018 and i can't imagine an underoath with aaron gillespie sounding current and relevant. didn't like the band other than parts of disambiguation and the last two songs but i'm very intrigued to see what they sound like at least

I think everything after TOCS holds up beautifully so I’m not worried about them sounding dated. My only worry is they try to make a safe album that does well but doesn’t push themselves musically. I think theyre good enough musicians that they can still surprise people.

DTGL sounds better than any other album in the genre. I'm sure they will modernize their sound a bit, but I have no doubts that fans of Underoath will enjoy it.

It's interesting to me that the more weary I grow of metalcore as a whole, the more Define the Great Line stands out as the unique and incredible record it is.

My personal opinion is that its because the band was just trying to write music they enjoyed instead of having a dick measuring contest with other bands that are heavy.

    I do not exist.

I barely listen to bands with screaming anymore. But I have a feeling that they'll pull something special out when they do record.

I still listen to some metalcore (ETID, Norma Jean) and I am sure I will at least give whatever Underoath puts out a fair chance. DTGL and LITSOS still really hold up well after all these years.

Someone in the Q/A thread asked Jason if he had heard anything about underoath and he just self-quoted a post from July saying there were rumors of DC recording time.

    I do not exist.

I've said it before but I'm pretty convinced they're going to announce something out of the blue and release it within a month of the announcement. They don't need to build up because there's so much hype there.

Unless each announcement is a tour there haaaas to be an album. I’ll take a live blu ray or something but the writings on the wall.

Honestly, considering how active they've been together, i'd be shocked if we didn't get new music from them next year.
