Completely agree on LITS being Aaron's best work in Underoath. He kills it on several songs ("We Are The Involuntary", "The Created Void", and "Too Bright To See, To Loud To Hear")

imagine they type of stuff Aaron could write now after touring that paramore record, which he said really forced him to become a much better drummer. This lineup needs to make another record, just write and see what comes out, super talented musicians, I am sure we will all love it

I thought spencer was gonna pull it off with sleepwave. And I don't like any of it.

Would love to see what they could all do with one more album. They are still my favorite band from whatever you want to call this genre.

Coming into a thread and realizing you were the last two post. Lol

Listening to lost in the sound of the separation and there isn't a band that does heavy like this that I even remotely enjoy as much as UO. ETID is upnthere but I don't like the records front to back as much as UO

    I do not exist.

I don't listen to heavier bands as much any more but I totally agree - there's something powerful and moving in the way they do it. I'll always come back to these albums. And LITSOS is a masterpiece in my opinion. Still my fav.

I don't listen to as much heavy music anymore but that is strictly because nobody's doing it like UO or Norma jean, who I think are the best at this. ETID has never stuck on me much, not sure if it's not melodic enough or what.

    Sleepwave was a huge letdown

I enjoyed that Sleepwave record for what it was. If you don't attach any Underoath related expectations to it it's pretty good. The huge sounding choruses and industrial influences remind me of Filter too, which is a good thing.

not to get too off topic, but for those of you saying you couldnt get into ETID on an album front to back, i HIGHLY recommend giving Low Teens another listen. ETID was the exact same to me before that album.

I can't believe people can't enjoy ETID records front to back!

In my defense I don't find it bad or unlistenable by any means, just not too memorable aside from a couple songs on each record. I will be revisiting low teens bc I need good heavy.

Low Teens only kinda did it for me until I went back and listened to The Big Dirty and New Junk Aesthetic. Only then did it all start to click for me

The Big Dirty was my introduction to ETID and I've loved them since.

  18. Moving For The Sake Of Motion came up on shuffle today at the gym and for 3 minutes and 16 seconds I felt like I could lift like 8000 more pounds

One of my favs on DTGL, and maybe a top 3 track for me.

For me it's definitely a toss up between "Moving For The Sake Of Motion" and "A Moment Suspended In Time". I love the former, but the outro to the latter still gives me chills to this day.

hey people, any interest here in doing a TBS/LP/Blink- style discography bracket to revive this thread?

TOCS and LITSOS constantly swap but 1 and 2 are pretty much solidified.

DTGL is my all time favorite album (and this is my favorite band), but i struggle to rank the rest. i think TOCS is too good to rest on nostalgic value alone, but it took me a long time to appreciate how great LITSOS is too. DA has some of their best moments but gets a little too sludgy for me at times.

I don't know if there's anything on Disambiguation that I'd really consider slushy. Idk maybe I'm just not familiar with sludge metal much, but I've never seen that album be compared to that genre

fair point. i guess my own unfamiliarity with sludge metal may be to blame for the description, i don't really know how to describe it. less melodic or catchy? not as fast paced but still heavy? . to be clear, i think its a terrific album, but i sometimes miss the melody of the others.
