This is exactly what I expected from the release. I have not enjoyed any of his solo records in full. The first one had two or three good songs but that was it.
i liked most of souther weather, but i agree, nothing else has really stuck to me. pretty bland in my opinion.
I like it. I like his voice and his guitar tone sounds perfect for it. That's just his vibe. I can also see the other side of it though. He's got an amazing voice and I really hope we get to see another Underoath album with all of them again.
Been jammin their discography today. Such a great, great band. I'm excited to see what 2017 has in store for them in terms of tour dates/possible writing. No need to rush anything or get burnt out. Also, if anyone is looking for a vinyl copy of TOCS, I have the white first pressing for sale. Thanks!
It's usually split between Define the Great Line and Disambiguation, depending on how you feel about Aaron. I personally think Define the Great Line is their best but they don't really have a bad album, I enjoy all of them.
Aaron used to be my favorite musician. haha Okay, I just got Lost in the Sound of Separation with my remaining amazon gift card because I remember Aaron and Spencer mentioning how much they liked that one. What is the general consensus on that one?
It's usually the somewhat forgotten middle child between Define and Disambiguation, it's great though.
DTGL is my personal favorite but Disambiguation and LITSOS are fantastic as well. I still enjoy the nostalgic aspect of TOCS but I almost always listen to their later material before it.
These guys killed it at Chain Fest. Definitely gonna go through their discography again later this week.
Aaron was also on Lead Singer Syndrome this week. Fun listen. Not super insightful, but a good conversation. Mostly rehashing on how the Underoath tour went and the new solo tour with Ace and Vinnie. There are no plans for a new UO record at this time and I think they might be doing some international stuff next year. May be wrong the last part. Aaron is not sure if he will be asked to drum for Paramore going forward since they are still working on a new album. If he is free and is asked to, he would like to still do it.
Lost In The Sound>They're Only Chasing Safety>Define The Great Line>Disambiguation I feel Spencer's best vocals are on LITSOS. TOCS will always hold a special place in my heart too. I just never got into the other two as much. I didn't connect with them at all and thats probably a hugely unpopular opinion when it comes to DTGL but oh well.
i go back and forth on define or lost being number one. disambiguation is also solid, and i can always jam to safety.
DTGL, but nothing tops the TOCS songs when it comes to the live setting just because everyone in the crowd goes ballistic.
I always thought the consensus was split bw DTGL/LITSOS, but that said, I choose DTGL. My personal fav of all time.
