Happy 20th to TOCS

Far from my favorite underoath album but the great songs are great and there’s nothing really bad on it. The nostalgia is a strength imo you can’t beat those memories you know?

 

wait does that mean this album is now classic rock

 

It's the album that's responsible for like 90% of my music taste so I will always hold it in high regard

 

Nowhere near their best but maybe their most important? Changed how I listened to music.

This album opened the door to a whole genre of music for me. Pivotal. Can’t believe it’s 20 years.

 

Bought it on a whim at Target along with Three Cheers and yeah, my life changed.

 

Makes me also feel nostalgic for PureVolume. What an awesome place to discover music around that time.

 

I use to "hate" screaming or anything heavy in music until I listened to this album. Opened up a lot of musical doors for my ears.

 

Been listening to TOCS today. The trilogy of TOCS, DTGL, and LITSOS will forever be this band’s peak.

Chris handed me a little postcard for their album at Warped in 04 or 05 and I'd heard of them from a friend that had the first album and it was too screamy for me at the time, BUT they played under a tent and their set happened to be while nothing else was going on, so I went and watched. They were on a tiny like, wooden stage to look 60 kids in a tent and I just remember being shocked by Aaron slamming his drums AND singing that way. Their whole energy, that close was undeniable even though I didn't know a single song. I bought the album for 5 bucks that day and my music landscape began to change, so while the next 2 are my favorites, TOCS is probably the most special to me

 

I had the hoodie in my cart until I noticed the final price was $125 CAD. No thanks.

 

I never listen to this anymore. But my entry into heavy music. Last in the Spencer rankings but an incredibly important record to me.

This was on in my junk jeep on the way to HS for a full year.

 

Every time I jam disambiguation I’m floored and surprised that I don’t play it more,

Spencer spills it all throughout LITSOS. real talk. I was disappointed LITSOS was never given a 10th anniversary tour. I’ll gladly save my money for a LITSOS 20th celebration
