I do not enjoy TOCS very much but a re-recording would at least improve it with some heavier guitar tones and a more impactful mix. I would at least check it out.
Tbh any nostalgia tour is just a reminder to me that they booted James from the band with essentially no warning. This band has meant a lot to me for many, many years, but it’s abundantly clear that they kind of suck personally
they're calling this tour "like nothing [they've] ever done" on IG, despite the fact they've been playing TOCS in full dozens of times the past half decade, lmao. sure, there's a fan-voted set, which might be cool if fans can get some cuts from Disambiguation on the setlist (besides Paper Lung or Illuminator), but it's still nostalgia first at the end of the day
I'll be out of town for all the tour dates around me. I had promised I was done with UO M&G but I'm intrigued. Definitely don't NEED another copy of TOCS. Fan voted set sounds cool, though. Wondering if I skip this and try and catch part of their set at WWWY.
I’m so there if it means we could potentially get some deep cuts in the fan voted set. Give me all of the disambiguation jams.
The TOCS/DTGL tour was enough for me. Stoked for those who will hear TOCS in full for the first time.
iirc, they've haven't played Catch Myself Catching Myself in nearly 14 years, and that's my favorite from that album. would kill to hear it now.
Would much prefer LITSOS Disambiguation tour if they are going to play old albums front to back. Very interested in what the fan sets look like though.
UO fell off so hard for me the past few years especially after they kicked their guitarist for presumably no good reason. Not really interested in seeing them rehash the same shit over and over again. Not to mention the only show near me is the Palladium and Im not a fan of that place whatsoever.
Have the same feeling. Plus there was absolutely no way they'd pass up a tour or something for the 20th anniversary. Expecting the exact same thing with DTGL in 2026.
would have loved a re recording but I was totally expecting it to be just an anniversary tour haha. They keep posting videos on their insta stories of them recording their next album. Sounds like they're getting close to finishing it.
by saying that I’d hoped maybe they have some surprises in store. Maybe they’ll play crowbar, which I don’t think they did on the last anniversary shows. fan votes always bum me the hell out because it’s always, always, *always*, whatever single or fan favorite from old albums they dropped out of rotation. At the last VIP event I went to, fans got to choose one song out of 3 options to play at soundcheck and we got….down set go. Love that song, a lot, but it’s 2024(!). I chose were all gonna die. 3rd choice was off DTGL iirc. my favorite too. I’d guess there’s a 10% chance we get something off that record, 0% chance it’s something that’s not paper lung or illuminator.
