I was tempted, and as much as I really want a pressing of this album I can't justify it right now for that price. Not really interested in having the NFT either. I'm hoping this is a sign that the band may do their own pressing of it again at some point in the near future, at which point I'll snap it up then.
Why all the big feelings toward nfts? Why not just be apathetic about it like me and buy it for the vinyl?
One issue is if it’s being ethically done - NFT and mining isn’t great for the environment if you look it up. Also, charging $50 before shipping when you just want the vinyl is another reason some (myself included) are groaning lol
Ah gotcha. I see expensive reissues going up a lot, which is annoying even though it feels uncontrollable. I wasn't aware of the environmental concerns though, so that's helpful to know.
Yeah that's gonna be hard to pass up on VIP especially when my tour date is the first date. Stoked for new UO in 2023. Absolutely excited to hear the progression and push from Voyeurist to whatever they're newly cooking.
The tweet makes me think they're talking about the Voyeurist demos, snippets of which could be heard in the behind the scenes episodes. Would be interesting if there were some from other eras. I would totally be interested in hearing what Erase Me was like in its early stages.
If you haven't liked any of the post-reunion stuff, I think you'll be hard pressed to find something you'll like in it
I like a few songs on the new one so I’d say that’s a step in the right direction over nothing from Erase Me
VIP is $133 and includes the following - One (1) General Admission Floor Ticket to see Underøath live Invitation to an exclusive pre-show Underøath hangout including: - Listening party for demos of unreleased and previously released music - Moderated Q&A session with the band - Group photo opportunity with the band - One (1) exclusively designed Underøath t-shirt - One (1) Commemorative VIP Laminate - One (1) tour poster - Early merchandise shopping before doors open to the public
That is the coolest VIP I have seen. I love the way Underoath keeps pushing new ways to connect with their supporters and provide meaningful experiences. 130 for a private hang with the band and a listening party to songs when all the Ticketmaster stuff is going down is pretty rad.
Does the same ticket madness happen with bands the size of Underoath at club shows? I haven't gone to a show in a while. Either way, this is a really creative and unique way to connect with a band. I would imagine those VIP experiences would rule.
I don’t think the point of their post is if that madness does or doesn’t happen with Underoath. Rather, people may not want to buy tickets through Ticketmaster/Live Nation because they will still be getting a cut of the ticket sales and, thus, monetarily supporting them
Must have already missed the VIP tickets for Sacramento secured two tickets though! Been on an Underoath bender since Voyeurist came out, so hype to see what they are like live.
I've seen them on their last two Portland stops, and while I do enjoy Loathe, I think I'm going to skip this tour. I went to almost 20 shows this year, and I have to cut way back for home improvement projects and paying down debt. Who knows, maybe I'll buy a last-minute ticket depending on how things are by March. They do put on a hell of a great show.
Weird routing here, skipping a lot of major markets entirely. Oh well. Super cool VIP offering, though.
Chris said this is just a small part of a big plan for the year on Instagram. I bet they announce another album partway through this tour or something. Or maybe direct support for another enormous tour. They have been in the studio a lot this past year.
Been wanting to see Loathe for a bit now and the closest they've been to me is TX. Glad that Little Rock is a stop on this tour, cause throwing UO and Periphery in the mix is fucking bonkers and I'm all in. No April Fools here, I am so game.
wish this included a sound check again, but I suppose it’ll be worth it to not get mad when people choose the historic TOCS/DTGL set staple over a deep cut
