Was also at the Cincy show last night - my first time back in an indoor venue in over two years. Had a blast and am hoping I got some great photos. Can't wait to go through them all tonight. Hadn't heard Bad Omens, but they definitely won me over. Great stage presence and a really fun set, I thought. Spiritbox absolutely brought the house down. I was so amped up to see them for the first time and they did not disappoint. Amazing how clean and tight their set was considering this is their first time getting out on a tour like this, I believe. Looked and sounded like a veteran band. This was my 10th time seeing Underoath. They were fantastic, as always. As has been mentioned by just about everyone, I definitely felt the lack of Voyeurist songs. Thought at least "Cycle" and "We're All Gonna Die" would have slipped into the set really nicely in place of a few other older tracks. Nevertheless, opening with "Damn Excuses" and "Breathing in a New Mentality" back-to-back was wild. "Pneumonia" was definitely a highlight for me.
Anyone get the VIP tickets and can give me any idea of what I should expect? Didn't even know I bought it for Sat's date until an e-mail I got today stating I did. Doors are at 6:00 for show, but VIP says to get there at 2:00. Is there going to be a break in between or should I expect to be at the venue from 2:00 until the show ends?
In the past they've done the VIP stuff and then move you back outside until the doors open. Usually there's a VIP only line that you can wait in that goes before the general line. I've been able to go eat dinner and be back in line for the show before doors but just depends if you want on the railing or not. If that's the case then I'd expect to be there the whole time.
Thanks. Coming in from out of town and check in at hotel isn't until 3. So ideally, get to VIP, leave and bring merch back to hotel, grab food, then return. I'm not one who likes to be right up front, so I don't even mind getting back and entering at the normal time.
VIP experience was about an hour. At my date it was pushed back to 3 meaning there was still a couple hours until doors. They’ll first take your sound check song vote, then get your merch, then q/a, then song. With your laminate you can still skip any line that’s left if you show up later.
Does anyone know set times? Atlanta traffic is always a nightmare and my cousin’s boyfriend isn’t off work until 6.
Not to double post, but wasn't there DTGL demos out there at one point? Just got me thinking that I've never actually heard demos from UO before other than the TOCS ones.
I love these deep dives. really enjoyed Chris' episode. Wish they would have played more of the soundscape demos Aaron and JJ were talking about in Episode 2/3
Not sure, but his website contains various songs from his film scores: https://www.chrisdudleymusic.com/music That said, I just remembered about that one song he did with Keith Buckley back in the day:
I need to revisit. Wasn’t a huge Almost fan but I really liked that when it came out. It soundtracked the begging of my summer after junior year lol
I often wonder if we’ll ever get a primarily Aaron-led song. Not an interlude or slow song but a ripper where Aaron is belting his heart out the whole time. It would never be played live but it would be incredible. Even if they just tracked the drums live it’d be sweet to see Aaron up front.
