They did play at SPAC when they were opening for Korn in 2019 so I don't think there'd be any sort of animosity towards Upstate NY and it'd be a little silly to have animosity towards an entire region, but it also wouldn't surprise me if the Illuminatour show I was referring to was a pretty negative memory for them
Kind of like how Thursday touring on Common Existence with the BMTH crowd just totally killed positive feelings on that album for themselves, or Fall Out Boy with Folie a Deux. All phenomenal albums!
Anyone who has gone... are Spiritbox really only playing a 6 song, 27 minute set as main support? Two of the songs aren't even on the album.
Still not a fan of these openers. I think part of it is largely detaching from the genre outside of a few select artists from the 2000's. I'm torn, because while I want to get to the front of the crowd for a decent spot for Underoath, I don't want to stand through three sets I won't care for before the main act even plays. Most of the time I usually enjoy at least one opener for a tour. Not the case here. :(
Correct. Spiritbox telling everyone this is the time the were contracted for (30 mins) and their set seems pretty set in stone because all of the prerecordings blend into each other.
Well damn. I can’t imagine that ETID didn’t have an hour so I was expecting them to as well. Most of my favorites didn’t even make the setlist.
Thought id read on Reddit I believe that after the first few shows spiritbox anticipated going a little longer. Hope that’s true. Though id be more excited if that meant they’d play some s/t songs.
I’ve listened to this album on and off since it dropped but today it hit me like a ton of bricks. Thorn and Take A Breath are my favorites right now.
The crowd was screaming for an encore but that didn't happen. I'm trying to find the article now but I'm having trouble finding it, their management said they sold $1M worth of merch in 2021 without touring and think they can fill 1k venues on their own right now. I expect some sort of fall headlining tour in the US. Edit: Found it. They did $30-60k/month in merch. "I have no doubt we could sell out the Gramercy [Theatre, New York] no problem, could probably do the Bowery no problem, maybe 1,000 tickets in LA or New York" https://www.pollstar.com/article/spiritbox-breaks-free-with-breakout-debut-lp-cover-story-148970
Just yesterday, Spiritbox was on the same line as Underoath for Aftershock. Different days, but still. They’re much larger than they were when this was booked. I’m just bummed to not see Yellowjacket.
Can anyone let me know approximate set times for this tour? I coach a high school soccer team and we have a game today, and I’m also attending today’s show in LA, so I want to try and get an idea of how much time I have in between the game ending and getting to the venue.
If no one replies, it might not be a bad idea to call the venue ahead of time and ask them. Some venues will give out that information in advance.
I don't want to make this into a Spiritbox conversation but they just sold out 800 capacity club in London in 1 minute lol They are so much bigger than when they initially booked this tour with UO.
Just got out of tonight’s show… SO fucking amazing. UO killed it of course… really enjoyed Spiritbox and Bad Omens as well.
That bridge on Take a Breath though Hope we get another record from them soon they’re on fucking fire atm
Saw them last night in San Francisco and they were great…. but I really wish they played more Voyeurist tracks. What they did play was absolutely not enough.
Damn saw them last night. They sounded so good. Big same on wishing they played more Voyeurist tracks. I was really hoping for Take a Breath or We're All Gonna Die. There was a little awkwardness at the encore...crowd didn't really give a traditional "one more song", and you could tell Spencer was hesitant to come back out. Monday night adult crowds lol
Haha similar thing happened at my show in Anaheim… even though the crowd was really into it, the “one more song” chant died out kinda quick and it was a little awkward because they had to come back out eventually lol
Going to see them tonight in Portland! So excited, but also a little bummed hearing they're not playing enough Voyeurist tracks. I really hope the crowd is pumped enough to shout for the encore. One of those is Thorn, and I don't want to miss that. I do get it though. Shows getting out at roughly 11PM on weeknights is tough on us older folks LOL Looking at the stats on the setlist, and Erase Me slots went from 6 to 2 for this tour. I think that's appropriate. Can't believe Voyeurist only gets 4 slots though. Setlist is also 3 songs shorter than their last tour too. I'd honestly rather drop one of those openers for a longer UO set and take out one of the TOCS songs.
It’s funny, I was absolutely team “play fewer TOCS songs” before the show… but I hadn’t seen them live since 2016, and I ended up getting way more into those songs live than I was expecting. They were definitely highlights in terms of crowd engagement too, some of the highest energy I saw from the crowd the whole set… so tbh I do get why they’re still there.
Yeah, band was in rare form last night. Pneumonia in particular was a highlight, even if the crowd acted weird about it and the one more song chant. I tried to keep the chant going but it's hard by yourself
