Guess I'll need to avoid this thread for the next month for setlist spoilers. Enjoy your shows everyone! If you're at the Silver Spring, MD date, come say "hey"
Its probably the only song I like less than my initial listen. Everything else keeps increasing. But I’m glad other people like it.
Set list is kind of a bummer, honestly. The Erase Me tour got 6 tracks from that album and I was hoping for a similar situation here, especially given how well received it’s been across the fanbase. They’re playing 4 less songs on this tour, too.
No disambiguation or everyone looks so good is a bummer but otherwise a really solid set. Pneumonia as the “closer” is super cool.
About the setlist spoiler, A Fault Line, A Fault of Mine, There Could Be Nothing After This, No Frame, Too Bright to See, Too Loud to Hear are surprising inclusions. Reinventing Your Exist is the only one that feels out of place and that I'd swap with one more Voyeurist deep cut (Cycle, Take A Breath, or We're All Gonna Die). It's cool that, knowing the amount of material they now have to pick from, it isn't a standard singles only setlist.
100% agree, that is the one song I would certainly swap out on the list. Other than that, pretty solid, could use a few more but who wouldn't want more UO?
Was at the show in Dallas on Friday. Absolutely killer performance, it certainly did feel like the guys truly missed performing live and they definitely brought it. The mix was a bit wonky at times, but nonetheless, it mostly held up. My only thing, like others have echoed - absolutely no Disambiguation on the setlist. Does anyone have a good understanding as to a reason why? Bums me the hell out, it's my favorite record and would sound so good with Aaron sharing some of the accompaniment with Spencer.
My thing on Disam is that I'm pretty sure we're the vocal minority on people who hold it in such high regard. It's probably one of those situations where if they were to play In Division or something, only 10% of the crowd would give a damn. Just not worth the slot to them.
Aaron wasn't a part of it and they want to focus on playing material that he has been a part of. Even before/during the Erase Me cycle, they would only play either Paper Lung or Illuminator. Now they have another new album with Aaron. In addition, Spencer has mentioned that the period of his life from 2010-2014 was the darkest for him so he probably doesn't want to play songs from that era. At this point, I would be surprised if the band even played one song from Disambiguation ever again.
Love disambig but that touring cycle put em in the smallest venue I’ve ever seen em. Agree it would be incredible to see Aaron sing some of it though. I’d settle for the teased livestream performance. Think that’d be a good compromise tbh.
There were also fans who refused to listen to the album simply because no members from the original lineup were left in the band and they argued that the band should have changed their name at that point lmao
I love Disambiguation but seeing them on that touring cycle was one of the most depressing things in the world. I saw them at Northern Lights in Albany on the Illuminatour and by the time they came on, there were maybe 30 people in the audience. They still played as if they were playing to thousands and it was great to hear so many songs from that album live, but holy shit it was fucking depressing to see so few people, and unfortunately, this sort of attitude seemed to have a lot to do with it: I mean, the Albany, NY scene kind of sucks to begin with but this attitude was very prevalent at the time.
I wish I had seen them on that album cycle. My first time seeing them was their farewell tour and they did play half that album, plus Unsound, but I would have loved to see some others from that album too that I would have gotten to see back in 2010/2011
