The only song on here within spitting distance of ambient music is No Oasis and it’s not ambient music
I would take a side project of songs like (No Oasis) with Aaron and Chris. I think they do that type of thing well.
I like Spiritbox but I do think it’s funny that they’re posing outside some old money mansion given the genre lol
had to double check this haha. Disambiguation feels so much longer. also, shocked people don’t like cycle. I think the chorus would’ve been more impactful as a bridge but I think it immediately became a GOAT contender for me. Speaking of which, really great bridge album. They did a great job disguising still-relatively-simple song structures within hectic, dense songs.
Also, it’s true: Digital Ghost is the better version of this record. Been saying that since day one of the album release.
If they properly release Digital Ghost as an album - I would probably rank it as their best record to date? It does every song, aside from maybe Hallelujah, more justice IMO
the prevailing opinion seems to be there’s benefits to both but plenty of people like DG better. personally I still haven’t heard it lol
I don't hear that much difference honestly aside from the vocals not being as clear which is why I prefer the album.
As far as “live” performance videos go - I don’t think there’s anything better than Digital Ghost. Everything from visuals to audio is top tier. I still get pumped when I watch my screen recording of it every time. It’s honestly an achievement for the band and it just makes Voyeurist even more of a whole experience which I love.
I like both equally. Hoping DG ends up on Apple Music/streaming just like the other Observatory releases. The live versions definitely add different layers of depth. Like the Damn Excuses live version is SO much heavier than the album version for example. Different intricacies and reasons for liking both.
I honestly think they’re leaving money on the table if they don’t release it on streaming and press it on vinyl ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We’re All Gonna Die is my least favorite on the album by a large margin. I skip it almost every time. Hallelujah is great. really excited to see what they play at this fundraiser tonight
