I think I can safely say Thorn, Take A Breath and I'm Pretty Sure I'm Out Of Luck are my favorites from this album after playing the shit out of it the last couple of weeks. But every song is S+ tier The merch I got with my preorder is also pretty cool.
I wish this tour started sooner. I don't want the hype to die down by the time I see them late March. Can't stop listening to this album. Especially at the gym.
Clip sounds good. Love how front and center the vocals are. This isn’t what I expected when they alluded to a female voice somewhere.
Not as impactful as the original but I appreciate what they did here. I wonder what type of impression it would've left if it was the first version I heard and not just hearing it for the first time after having this album on repeat.
It's interesting but it irks me that the vocals now overpower everything else, except for the bass which is more on the front. The guitar sounds really drowned out too. I feel like I'd like it better if the mix was closer to the original one.
Sounds like someone found an instrumental and uploaded a cover to YouTube. Not saying it's bad, but I probably won't revisit it. My tour date needs to get here FAST. 1 month+ until I experience this live!!!
Interesting version. I like her voice, but I don't think it necessarily...fits all that well with this style, at least in this mix. The mix itself is fascinating, though.
Surprised people don’t like this more. Didn’t blow me away and it does feel more like a cover but given how many dreadful remixes and features have littered the band’s relatively recent history I think it’s a fun treat. Especially love when she’s pushing her voice more in the back half and the second verse where we get to hear 3 very distinct voices quick succession, feels new.
I think disambiguation, lost in the sound of separation, and define the great line are all better but other than that it’s better than every other album they’ve done. also I would say I wasn’t a fan until disambiguation but considering that was still 11 years ago it could still be nostalgia but I don’t think so. those top 3 albums are high watermarks for the genre though so it’s hard to hit that high of a bar at this point in their career. there’s still some things about their new era writing style that don’t fully click with me (like I said hallelujah is a low point on the album and tbh so is numb) but they’re still mostly killing it and tapping into something special creatively
I would say that Voyeurist is one of their best to date. I would rank it up there with LITSOS and Disambiguation and above the rest.
